Love 'N Laughter

This center is the worst center I've ever known:( I brought my son there when he was 3 years old, not because I needed childcare but because I wanted him to socialize and learn basic skills. He only attended 3 days a week. He had terrible separation anxiety and the staff was unwilling to help him. They just let him stand in the back of the room and cry all day. At one point, as I was dropping him off for the day, his teacher decided that would be an appropriate time to tell me that she thinks there's something wrong with my son, that perhaps he has aspergers syndrome. I don't know what shocked me more...the fact that this woman who has had no professional training in special education is trying to tell me that my son may have a serious problem as I'm about to drive into work, OR the fact that she had that kind of a conversation right there with other parents in the room!!!!! I mean how completely unprofessional! I am a teacher. I have my early childhood and elementary education certification. I was required to take courses in special education. I am, however, under no circumstances, to EVER tell a parent I think their child might have a learning disability. It only gets worse though, I'm afraid. I was undecided whether or not to sign my son up for their summer camp because he was having such a terrible time there, but I didn't want to let him stay home and have his separation anxiety get worse. When I finally decided in May to enroll him in the summer program, I was told that there was no more room for him in his age group. I was shocked because I signed him to begin there in August for the end of their summer camp with no problems. So a friend of mine called asking about the camp for her daughter the same age as my son. They couldn't sign her up fast enough!!!!! My friend said she was still undecided and would like to get back to them but didn't want the spot to fill so how much time did she have...Love and laughter's response was plenty of time, because they had "plenty of room"!!!!!!! Of course I called the director of this facility to question how they could be so heartless and after stumbling over countless words because she didn't even know what to say, they decided to "open up a spot" for my son. I don't have to tell you where they could put their spot!!!! I soon found a wonderful place with caring, loving, people who not only took my son but helped him foster good social skills and it's not far from there...Stay and Play on Huntingdon Pike. It's a great place where the staff REALLY is professional and REALLY do care about the well being of your child. I beg you PLEASE, do not send your child to this school. My son is now doing FABULOUS in catholic school but even he STILL to this day, refers to this school as the "Hate and Cry" school.
