What Parents Say
Longfellow Children's Center receives highly polarized reviews. Positive reviewers praise the engaging activities, attentive staff communication, developmental support, and child enthusiasm for attending. Negative reviewers report unprofessional management conduct, staff behavior concerns, restrictive food policies, and problematic payment structures.
My son has been in daycare there for the past year and loves it. They offer him opportunities to experience and play in many ways. The staff is friendly and provides pictures and videos of our son everyday. We always send them an email to inform them of anything going on (being late in the morning, crankiness, diaper rash, teething, etc.) and they give us a feedback on that when needed. The kids learn to play together (my boy used to be shy but now has a best friend), eat together at the table, wash their hands, etc. We really enjoy the peace of mind that they provide to our family.
My daughter has been going here since she was a year and a half. Every morning she wakes up so happy to go to school. She has always been ahead in all the developmental milestones and is so deeply appreciated by her teachers. She's graduating this year and can't wait to join the after-school program. Highly recommend.
I should have known we would have issues when upon my first contact to the program the manager yelled at me on the phone. Instead, I brushed it off thinking she had a bad day (plus, there were a lot of positive reviews of the program). The management team was very unprofessional while we were in the program, often yelling and hanging up the phone( yes, hanging up the phone). The after school program has a bizarre payment structure where you are penalized for picking up your child earlier than 4 pm. Food/snacks are pure junk food (they don't let you bring your own, siting "allergy" concerns. As a mom of a severely allergic child, this made no sense to me).
My 3 year old son LOVES this wonderful place! From the "structure" (a giant, indoor playground), to cooking classes, dance lessons, and LOTS of gym and outdoor time, he is always active and learning. A real winner in town!
The staff is incredibly unprofessional, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were not certified. If you want your baby to get screamed at all day then send them here. This place should be shut down.
