Little Sunshines Playhouse And Preschool

As first-time parents, choosing a daycare was one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever had to make. Our first visit to Little Sunshine Preschool of Scottsdale was in 2024 when our daughter was only 3 months old. We met Ms. Latryce, who greeted us with the biggest, most beautiful smile and immediately took our baby in her arms to show us around. That warmth meant everything to us. We also met Ms. Niecey, the lead infant teacher, who truly made us feel at home. She took the time to ask thoughtful questions about how we were currently caring for our daughter because she wanted to ensure she would be comfortable and supported. That attention to detail spoke volumes. Even though we had such a great experience, as a first-time mom, I just wasn’t emotionally ready to leave my baby at daycare yet, so we decided to wait. Fast forward to 2025 — our daughter was more active, and balancing work and her care became challenging. I toured several other schools, but I couldn’t stop comparing them to Little Sunshine Preschool. Nothing felt the same. In late January 2025, I made an impromptu call to LSP. Ms. Latryce answered, and although I wasn’t sure she would remember us, she immediately remembered both me and my daughter! That warm feeling instantly returned. We scheduled a same-day visit, and I even brought my mom — who has over 30 years of experience teaching children — to get her opinion. (Let’s say she approved). When we arrived, we met Ms. Daytona and Ms. Melanie, and once again, we felt that same comfort and reassurance. When our daughter started, she had a few shy moments, but Ms. Yazmin (Yazzy) and Ms. Niecey were amazing in helping her adjust and engage with the other children. We were nervous about her transition to the next class with Ms. Jolene, especially not seeing Ms. Yazzy daily anymore, but she did wonderfully. Ms. Jolene kept her engaged and made the transition seamless. Now she’s in the preschool class with Ms. Hailey and Ms. Mia, and she absolutely LOVES her teachers. Early on Ms. Hailey and Ms. Jolene helped us recognize that our daughter knows much more than she sometimes shows and that she catches on incredibly fast. With the support of these amazing teachers, our daughter now knows her ABCs (in and out of order), colors, shapes, how to cut with safety scissors, is potty trained, and so much more. Not just Ms. Mia but all of the teachers/staff gives our daughter the extra attention and love that she needs at times. I’ve noticed that they do that with other children too! I also have to mention Ms. Dawn — her fresh, home-cooked meals are such a blessing. Knowing our daughter is being fed warm, thoughtfully prepared meals each day gives us so much peace of mind. It truly feels like family. Another thing we deeply appreciate is how the staff keeps us updated throughout the day with pictures, observations, and detailed updates — from diaper changes to potty training progress and everything in between. As a mom, I’m always thinking about my daughter and constantly checking the app to see how her day is going. Those updates truly calm me down and reassure me that she is happy, cared for, and thriving. We are beyond thrilled watching our daughter grow and flourish at Little Sunshine Preschool. Choosing LSP has truly been the best decision for our family. The love, care, patience, communication, and intentional teaching from every staff member have made all the difference. Forever grateful for this village 💛

We started at Little Sunshine's Playhouse in August 2024. I highly recommend this preschool for your little one. When I first toured the school, it stood out against the competition because Ms. Latryce not only made us feel like family, but she actually got my little one to smile and start playing (which was unlike our 4 other tours). While the transition was a little rough, joining 2 weeks after a cross country move, the team was genuinely understanding during this time. Ms. Latryce, Ms. Melanie, and Ms. April were all very communicative and always open to chatting on how to improve the transition and experience for my little one. Ms. April is my son's primary teacher and is beyond amazing! This is not a one size fits all classroom, and her genuine care shows through in how she discusses my child's strengths, challenges, and joys. I've been in the classroom several times, and observed her care for all the children while keeping in context their unique personalities. The bonus is also the school's location, and the fact that they have lots of outdoor time. The entire staff is very friendly, and it's a pleasure to interact with all of them. I also appreciate the app, and the updates of pictures etc. The school also hosts regular events, and opportunities to spend time in your child's classroom.

We couldn’t be happier with the care and attention our son receives at Little Sunshine Playhouse. The staff is truly fantastic — we always feel confident that he’s in great hands and learning so much each day. The variety of fun and interactive activities they do is amazing and really helps our son grow and thrive. He had a wonderful experience in the infant room with Niecey and Haley, who cared for him like family. Now that he’s moved up to the toddler room, Yazzie, Dez, and Shelbi have been incredible in supporting his transition and encouraging his learning strides. We’re so grateful for everything this team does!

LSP is truly a second family for my two children. My son has been going here since we was 9 months old and is about to graduate to Kindergarten at the end of this year. We loved it so much that we decided to enroll our daughter at just 9 weeks old because we knew she would be 100 percent taken care of. We have always been able to check in on our kiddos whenever needed and get constant updates from their App about how our kids are doing for the day including what and when they are doing things like eating, playing, learning. Ms. Lydia and Ms. Taylor are our sons teachers and they have fully prepared him to start his school journey off right with teaching valuable skills like reading, writing, and creative learning. Our daughter is always completely taken care of thanks to her wonderful teachers Ms. Neicey, Ms. Denaysha, and Ms. Shelbi and she truly loves them like they are her family! I never leave with my children upset, they are always happy to be there with all their teachers! Of course non of this would be the case if it wasn't for their incredible leadership from Latryce, Daytona, and Melanie! Honestly your kids will be in the best care with these wonderful people who love them as if they are their own children everyday. Thank you LSP for being such an incredible support for our family!

Little Sunshine’s Playhouse is a loving and engaging daycare and I highly recommend it. We are returning parents (our youngest attended from 2016-2018), and have been impressed with the school and especially with the transition and toddler rooms. The front office team (Latryce, Daytona, and Dawn) are so welcoming and responsive, and build relationships with each of the families that enroll. The teachers are loving, engaging, and creative. Yasmine and Des in the transition room are amazing (my son still gives them big waves and extra long cuddles when he sees them), and Haley and Madi have also been wonderful in the Toddler room. They send thorough updates and pictures to parents throughout the day through their app. We receive 5-10 photos of our son each day, which brings us joy and comfort in knowing that our baby is having fun at school. The children’s days are filled with fun art projects, dancing, bubbles, time outdoors in their two shaded playgrounds, and a variety of meals. We have also enjoyed the family parties that the school hosts around the holidays and the portraits that LSP offers. We toured nearly every infant daycare in the North Scottsdale area and have been pleased with our choice in LSP!
