Little People'S Bright Beginning

My children have attended this daycare center since they were 3 months old. Now they are 4 and 2 years old. They love their teachers and enjoy playing and learning playing with them. I feel like my children are safe and very loved by all the staff.

I was hired at this daycare/learning center sometime back and was also considering switching my 1 yr old son to this daycare but after being there for 2 days, I changed my mind. I was in the 1 yr olds classroom, observing the teacher, when lunch time came around, the lunch lady stopped by with the food and started serving it. She told me to start passing the plates and when I saw the serving, i was in shock. She served them 1 only 1 chicken nugget, less than a half of banana, and a bit of veggies. I have worked at other childcare centers and this is in no way close to what the portion should be for a 1 yr old child. It wasn't until nap time came around that I realized why she served them such a small portion. 10 mins hadnt even passed when the lunch lady Letty which also happens to help around with everything else around the daycare rushes back in and is all rushed to take the kids to the room where they put the kids to nap. The kids weren't even done eating, not even half way and here she is pulling them away so they can sleep because according to her they were behind on the schedule they follow and we needed to go put them to sleep ASAP because other teachers needed to take their lunch break. I was like, well what about the kids they didn't finish eating and she didn't seem to care. So, she accompanies us to the nap room and the mats were already set up. She tells me and well the main teacher already knew that we had to give the kids their cups or bottles so they could sleep. They give the kids their bottles while they are laying down so they can fall asleep fast. This is against licensing rules and a hazard. The milk can go to the child's lungs or it can cause an ear infection if the milk goes to the child's ears. I brought it up and was told that that is how they always do it. There is more that I witnessed in those 2 days I was there but this is what stood out most. It's sad because parents take their kids to daycare thinking they are in good hands but by the seems of it, at this daycare they are being underfed and licensing rules are not being followed. Another thing, there is no cameras in the classrooms which is wrong because if anything were to happen there would be no proof of it. At the daycares where I have worked at and at the daycare where my child currently attends they have cameras with both audio and video recording. At Little People they have no cameras in the classrooms whatsoever. Parents pay so much money, they even have parents sell tickets to raise money for the kids parties/ events and they can't even have cameras installed, children can't be served an adequate meal and simple rules by licensing can't be followed. Like I said, there is more. I had considered putting my child in this daycare but there is no way in hell I would switch him after all I saw in just those 2 days. I couldn't work at such a place, I decided not to work there because I myself have a child and felt so bad after what I experienced.
