What Parents Say
Parents consistently praise Little Ones University for its organized, structured environment with passionate staff who genuinely care for children. The center emphasizes developmentally appropriate activities, regular communication with parents via the Brightwheel app, and creates a welcoming community where children are happy and engaged.
When my family moved back to St Albans from Burlington, we were kind of bummed that we had to leave our preschool behind. We had been to a few places and found some are glorified daycares and some places actually feel like schools - even for the littlest kids, just a little structure and some adorable art projects was all we hoped for on top of a plane we could leave our kids and feel good about it. Our first “school” was a total bust, and we were kind of heartbroken we’d lost what we had. Luckily for us, a spot opened at Little Ones U, and we heard nothing but positive things. Looking a little deeper we found these reviews, and they were all great across the board (aside from the parent that thinks a skinned knee is a criminal act, but i digress), and we made the call, and thank the good lord we got a spot. We could tell the second we got there that this was the place to be. Kids buzzing about - that perfect mix of childlike chaos and school order - everyone seemed happy, kids and teachers alike, everyone said hello to us (a simple thing, but so important when you’re thinking about leaving your baby here for 6+ hours), everything was clean and ordered… My wife and I began muttering “we have to send him here” before we were through the 3rd little area. Admissions was smooth, and within about a week we were in. (Normally we wouldn’t leave a place so abruptly, but our 5 year old who was about to start kindergarten, broke his elbow at the OLD center, so that was the last straw.) As you probably know kids are pretty overwhelmed by 40 new kids and 10-20 stranger adults, but our boy latched on to Ms. A so quickly it was very comforting. Our boy would kind of hold onto me when he knew I was leaving, but only for a week or two, now, only a couple months later, he sprints inside to see his friends. Literally this morning he shrieked “friends!” I just can’t say enough good about this place. All his teachers are wonderful, and as mentioned, any adult who works here talks to us, even if it’s just a hello or typical parental blah blah blahs about it being Monday, just… normal people stuff. You can really tell the staff enjoys being there; I’m not sure if it’s the kids or the business, but i have to assume both. They are also incredible with their reporting, using the Brightwheel app (at time of review) and being very punctual when anything happened, normal or otherwise. Our kid has been bit a couple times, for example, and while we aren’t the type of parents to freak out over totally common, age-appropriate things like this, it’s still nice to get things reported timely and thoroughly. There was even one mark we didn’t see in the app, which honestly could have been like rug burn or something, and they were more than happy to hear u out and didn’t act all defensive… sometimes just an ear is all us parents need! Again, I can’t say enough about this place. I was a huge fan of our old school, and somehow this place is in the same highest tier of care. If you want your kids to be as safe as their little bodies allow, you want transparency and cute school work, and you want your baby to have a smile on his face and not daily tears, check out Little Ones University in St. Albans. Thank you for all you do guys.
We recently switched childcare centers and we instantly noticed the organization, structure and routine of my child’s day. The teachers seem very genuine and passionate about the children they care for. We couldn’t be happier with Little Ones University!
Amazing center. My son has been there for almost a year, he started in the infant room and has recently moved up to the mobile infant room. He has grown so much in his time at the center. In each room he has been enrolled in he has experienced so much love, support, and learning. They have developmentally appropriate activities planned daily, daily outside time, and we get regular updates throughout the day! I love being able to drop my son off and know that he is loved and well taken care of!
My older son attended little ones a few years ago. He had great teachers that helped him grow so much and get him ready for kindergarten. When my youngest was born last year, there was no other school I was going to send him to. He has teachers that love and care for him, help him meet milestones, and communicate regularly with us parents. He has already learned so much in such a short amount of time.
For over forty years I've been an early childhood educator. I've worked in California and Vermont. I love working at Little One's University with some of the most caring staff and our children and their famlies live in my heart always. I've been here from the beginning with Miss Carylie and I love that lady and her heart. She wants only the best for all the beautiful souls here. I never would have continued my professional endeavors here unless I felt it was the best place for children to be while their mom and dad are working Miss Tracy oversees our Essex Junction center , our very first school. She's kind, funny, cares very much for us all. . She works very hard to keep things running smoothly But best of all we have Superhero here at the center to read or chat, one on one with the children. The children picked him out to rescue over eight years ago and he continues to love his job and our children. He's on the job every day. I highly recommend this amazing center.
