What Parents Say
Little Life Preschool has highly polarized reviews. Some parents praise the educational curriculum and child development, while others report serious concerns including unprofessional staff behavior, alleged discrimination against children with special needs, and inadequate care practices.
We’ve had a consistently disappointing experience at this daycare, specifically due to one staff member, Ashley Waugh, who is assigned to the rockabye baby building. She is extremely unprofessional and has a noticeably negative attitude. I get off work at 5:30 PM, and with a 15-minute commute, I always arrive by 5:45 PM—well before their 6:00 PM closing time. Despite this, Ashley always opens the door with an unpleasant attitude and says things like, “Yeah, we’re closing soon,” in a tone that makes me feel unwelcome. Even more frustrating is how she constantly asks in an aggressive manner, “When are you picking them up? When are you picking them up?” — even though our scheduled pick-up time is clearly documented and consistent. It feels more like an interrogation than a conversation. Every Wednesday is the last day for parents to submit their child’s schedule for the following week. Unfortunately, that same day, I had a medical emergency and ended up in the ER, where I was hospitalized for five days. I had to ask their dad to pick up the kids, but I wasn’t able to explain that he needed to submit their schedule as well. Because of that, their schedule wasn’t entered, and Ashley told their dad the kids couldn’t come back due to the missing schedule. She was very inconsiderate of the fact that it was an emergency situation. Even after explaining what happened, she still refused to let them return. We decided to leave this daycare and will never go back. I would not recommend this place to any parent, especially those who may ever find themselves in an unexpected situation. We’ve been with other daycare centers before and never had any issues—especially not with policies or assistance through LINK. At this daycare, however, they make everything difficult. Staff often claim LINK doesn’t allow certain things, yet when I directly contacted LINK myself, they were very helpful and immediately supported kids schedule based on my work hours. To be fair, we do like the rest of the staff—Ashley is the only issue. But unfortunately, her behavior has made our overall experience unpleasant and stressful. We would not recommend this daycare to other parents. 0/10.
Discriminates against special needs kids. Our daughter has Downs-Syndrome and went there over the past few years. Recently there was a gap in our services (about a month that we let them know about) due to my wife changing jobs and then the daycare refused to accept her back in (owner pretty much said it wasn't worth the time or money for our daughter to be there since she's running a business). Turnover is high & there had been many times our daughter's clothes were wet or diapers were dirty when picked up.
These people must just have something against someone... Little Life has got to be one of the best daycares in the state! Our little guy is two and he already knows his ABCs, he can count to 20, knows most all of his shapes and colors, and has gotten such great social skills it's not funny! They have to spend a crazy amount of time with these kids in order to learn this quickly! My son loves it there and has crafts that he brings home EVERYDAY!
They discouraged me breastfeeding my child on my lunch break stating it would make it harder for him to go back. Every time I came in to see my son he was in a swing and started to develop a flat spot on his head and would not use the pillow made to heal prevent this.
Our son is a challenge, and they have great with him.
