My non-verbal, then 3 year old son was initially eager to go to school; halfway through the school year and without notifying us, they changed teachers. We immediately noticed a difference in my son's lack of interest in school. He would throw fits and run away from the teacher. Most of the employees speak only Spanish, too. When I spoke to this new teacher, all I received was complaints about how my son would not nap during nap time and was a big distraction, in a harsh tone. Dad and I had spoken to the owner initially and asked if his lack of advanced language would be an issue and if so, to please notify us. Long story short, my son began to hate school, and we had to withdraw him due to the different and condescending treatment he was given due to the teacher's lack of patience and more than likely experience with this population.
