What Parents Say
Lily Pad at Metro Park receives mostly positive reviews praising the caring staff, small class sizes, outdoor activities, and Montessori curriculum. However, some parents reported concerns about staff handling of challenging behaviors and toddler safety/supervision.
We absolutely loved our time at Lily Pad! Our son attended from 14 weeks to 15 months. All the teachers are wonderful and provide a loving, nurturing environment. Our son was always excited to arrive in the morning. The teachers are all very communicative and really helped us, as first time parents, to feel comfortable. They helped us navigate the change from bottles to solid foods and were instrumental in his physical development from rolling over to sitting up to walking. The only reason we left was because we got subsidized daycare through my work elsewhere. We were so sad to leave Lily Pad and would highly recommend them for other families!
Lily Pad was a wonderful choice for our family and we were very pleased with the care our children received for the 12+ months they attended. We were sad to leave when we moved out of the area. They've assembled an exceptional team of dedicated staff who love what they do and provide excellent care. Many of the teachers have been there for several years, so there is stability. The owner and director provide solid leadership and organization and were always a pleasure to work with. The facility is clean and updated, and the children get to spend a significant amount of time exploring outside the classroom, which was important to us. My children responded especially well to the Montessori curriculum. In additional to working on things like letters, numbers, shapes, and colors, they also do a great job in the social-emotional areas, such as labeling and learning to self-regulate. They also really helped my son master potty training.
Lily Pad is just an exceptional place. The daycare is inviting and clean. The staff is welcoming and ready to help. The teachers truly care about each and everyone of the children there, and they do everything to help your child - in whatever she/he needs. The classes are small, which is hard to find in a daycare. My child's teachers are wonderful and extremely loving, and they are always available to talk to you. The children spend a lot time outdoors: taking walks, in the playground, etc. They do lots of age appropriate activities. The Director is always ready to assist, accommodate your family's needs and she is extremely responsive. Our experience at Lily Pad couldn't be better. I love the exceptional care this place provides to my child. Our family feels very lucky to have found such a wonderful daycare. Places like this are just hard to find. I looked a lot before sending my child to Lily Pad. I feel grateful!
Beautiful facility, although I feel like the website is carefully designed to avoid showing you that there are no windows in any of the classrooms (entire facility is underground). Teachers and curriculum seem good, but this is not a school for a child with any issues which may fall out of the "every day" category. My son does not do well with transitional periods and moving to a new school caused him to act out - he's 2, this is pretty normal. Staff seemed ill equipped to handle his outbursts and after just a few weeks he was dis-enrolled. I met with his doctor and new teachers to make sure his behavior was within normal ranges for his age and they all agreed they were. I'm sure Lily Pad is a great school for some kids, but if your child is intense/needs extra attention, I'd probably look elsewhere.
This daycare is outstanding! It's located at metro park which in my opinion is a perfect location for children. The staff is very welcoming and instantly you could tell that they have a passion for children and helping them learn and development. The architect of this building is amazing, very creative! As soon as we entered the building we were greeted by the director and assistant director. They both were very knowledge and did not hesitate to answer any questions that I had. The staff were very nice. I was given an in depth tour of the facility and knew without hesitation that this was a perfect center for my daughter whose only 2 months. I am extremely excited for my daughter to attend and will provide a further update once she starts
