Lighthouse Academy Of Fredericksburg

My son is currently attending Lighthouse, and has for the past 11 years. I really can put into words my gratitude for the love, support, and development that Lighthouse has had on my son, and our family. I usually do not ever leave reviews, but when there is substantial negativity, personal attacks, and attempts to destroy this school in the court of public opinion, I could not stay quite. When we found this school, my son's life changed for the better. Lighthouse Academy is a good place, with owners and teachers who actually care and allow your child to grow individually, with their own abilities, and on their own terms.

As a current student of lighthouse academy, I can't say I have any complaints. I have been going to this school for 9 years and I have experienced every single classroom. Every class was filled with love, joy and kindness. Throughout my life at lighthouse, I felt safe and cared for. I highly recommend this school because of its fun, safe environment and the memories you make everyday! The teachers are incredibly helpful and have taught me so much. I honestly wouldn't be the person I am today without them and this school. The Bible classes of the adolescent program (lead by Scott mcclung) have to be my favorite part of the day. It's very fascinating to learn about the different parts of the Bible and having the ability to share our own thoughts. I have learned a lot more about Christ due to these classes. Overall the education is amazing! The work is created by all of the teachers who put their blood sweat and tears into it. I have been overwhelmed with work sometimes, due to lack of motivation, and the teachers have lifted me up and helped me through it with kindness, understanding and patience. All of the reviews below (negative) have made me giggle because of the amount of lies. The playground at lighthouse is incredibly beautiful. It is very simple with: a basketball court, soccer field, swing sets, Gaga ball pit, and a stage. The children at lighthouse have the ability to express their creativity by building forts and shops throughout the play ground as well as creating connections with one another by sport activities. Overall, I would highly recommend sending your children here.

If I could give zero stars, I would. We were promised a caring, and enriching environment with Montessori trained and certified instructors. We got that... at first. The K/1 classroom was fantastic.. until the owners pushed the only 2 loving and certified teachers out, and brought unqualified substitues in, while also stretching the other staff even thinner than they already were. The owner had zero clue about who the students and parents were, which if you claim to be dedicated to your school and the families that attend, you should probably meet them, especially since the school was so small. Stacie gave me the ick with one run in. She made me uneasy and my 5 year old was afraid of her from the get go. Both owners seem to have let greed and power get to their heads while also flaunting off THEIR version of Christ. Scott tried rejecting our letter when pulling our daughter out mid year, leading us to get a lawyer involved to show them that they have broken the contract we signed. They are cunning and deceptive, preying on vulnerable families who just want the best education and environment for their children. I wouldn't trust these two "Christ followers" with children in general. 0/10 do not risk your child's safety and education to send them here. We switched to public school and my child is THRIVING now.

My 4 children have thrived at Lighthouse. Two of my children graduated and are in the college of their choice. One graduated with honors and one is currently on Honor Roll. They received an amazing academic foundation by an intense curriculum, loving teachers and a very well run administration. My other two children are doing exceptionally well and are very, very happy. All of my children feel safe, loved and encouraged. Thank you Lighthouse for bring a true light to my family.
