We've been sending our daughter to the Lewinsville Montessori for almost a year now and we couldn't be happier with our experience. From the moment we started working with Ms. Liza on her enrollment, we knew this was the right place for our daughter. Lewinsville gives you a sense of warmth and hospitality that makes you feel right at home. The staff are friendly and approachable, always greeting you with a smile and taking the time to say hello. Casey and all our daughter’s teachers in Nido I & II have been an important extension of our family, providing guidance, support, and care that goes beyond what we could have expected. From our daily check-ins and recent parent teacher conference it is clear that Lewinsville has put a lot of effort into creating an environment that encourages children’s desire to learn with self-directed play. So much so that for a little while our daughter was more interested in staying at Lewinsville than coming home with us at the end of the day. One of the things that impressed us the most about Lewinsville is how accommodating and considerate they have been with our family’s unique schedule. Due to our work, we needed to start in the summer, leave in the fall for London, and return for the spring, which can be quite challenging to accommodate for a childcare center. However, Ms. Liza went above and beyond to make sure that our daughter’s transition was as smooth as possible, which was very important to us. They were flexible with our schedule and communicated with us regularly to ensure that our daughter was receiving the care and attention she needed. Thank you! Another thing we love about Lewinsville Montessori is how safe and clean the center is. From the security measures they have in place to the cleanliness of the facility, we have complete peace of mind knowing that our child is in good hands. We appreciate the attention to detail and the care that goes into ensuring the safety of all the children. Overall, my husband and I highly recommend Lewinsville Montessori. We feel lucky to have found such a caring and supportive community for our daughter while in McLean. If you're looking for a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for your child, then look no further than the wonderful Lewinsville Montessori.

My son has been attending Lewinsville Montessori for about 2 1/2 years now and I've been so happy with the school and staff. This is a long review but hopefully someone finds it useful. My little guy started there when he was 6 months old in the Nido I class and is now in Children's House so I've witnessed all of the classes the school offers. I can say without question that the school does an excellent job with the kids. They are well cared for and I really appreciate how much the staff teaches the kids. When I compare my son against peers his age that go to different schools, my son is lightyears ahead and I truly believe that the Montessori program has played a substantial role in that. The staff are so good with the kids and they've become part of my son's life. You can tell that they really care about their students. As a parent, it's so important for me to know that my kid is in good hands and I am confident that he is. His teachers have been there to help and support him as he learned to walk, started eating solid foods, started talking, began potty training.. The list goes on. The facility itself is practically brand new; I believe it opened in mid-2019. When we looked at other facilities, several were in older or less appealing buildings. There were a couple that I saw that were downright depressing and I would have felt guilty sending my child there. On the other hand, Lewinsville's classrooms are flooded with natural light and they're just a good environment for the kids. The new owner is fantastic and she has made noticeable investments in the facilities and technology. They recently rolled out a new app for billing, attendance, and reporting. The old system worked ok but it was mostly paper-based so this is a big improvement. Also, I really appreciate how the owner has stood her ground and kept common-sense policies in place to protect all of our kids. I saw another review that mentioned poor communication from leadership and I have to say that has absolutely NOT been my experience and honestly, it's what prompted me to write this review. I'm actually a little skeptical of that review because it is so very different from what I've experienced. As I said earlier, my son has been at the school for a few years now including 2020 when daycares were shut down for COVID. During that time, the director (Elizabeth), was in regular contact with parents and kept us apprised of all developments. Throughout the pandemic period, the school has implemented appropriate safeguards to keep ALL of the kids safe, including daily temperature checks, mask requirements, classroom "bubbles", and frequent sanitization. When there have been the inevitable (but isolated) COVID cases, they've done a fantastic job of informing the affected classes, sometimes notifying us late at night so that we are aware. The staff has sent regular updates to parents as Fairfax County has changed guidance for schools and daycare facilities. If anything, they've overcommunicated which is exactly what I want when my kid's safety is involved. Lastly, if I ever need to get in touch with any of the staff members, they'll always pick up the phone and they always respond quickly to emails. In closing, I highly recommend this school for your little person and I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have if you're considering enrolling your kid here.

My child has been enrolled here for the last year. We have been very happy. The teachers are all very loving and caring. There has been little teacher turnover. The director is very approachable and does a good job communicating with parents.

This school was referred to us so my husband and I were excited to enroll our daughter but unfortunately the lack of communication gives this school a zero in my opinion. I was able to schedule a virtual tour but the director, Elizabeth, ended up being sick so someone else led our tour which was fine. Unfortunately, she was unable to answer the majority of our questions and promised Elizabeth would follow up to answer all our questions so we could make our decision. About a week went by with no follow up. I emailed and called the school to follow up and was told Elizabeth would email me back (she never did) and would call me back (never did). I tried emailing yet again but no response. I guess they did not want our business. I’m very disappointed in the lack of communication from the director.
