Level Up Youth Program/Core Academy

City of Refuge has been a true lifeline for me and my children. When we walked through those doors, we were coming out of domestic violence, homelessness, and a long season of pain and uncertainty. I was a mother trying to protect my girls while rebuilding our lives from the ground up. City of Refuge didn’t just give us a place to stay they gave us safety, dignity, and a real chance to start over. My daughters finally had a space where they could sleep peacefully and just be kids again. And for me, they provided the support and encouragement I needed to stand on my own two feet. The staff didn’t treat us like a case or a number. They saw us as a family worth investing in. Because of their programs and the people who poured into us, I not only found stability I found a new direction. I was able to start a new job, step into a real career, and move forward with confidence. They also helped us transition into a beautiful new apartment, a place my daughters and I can finally call home. City of Refuge changed the entire direction of our lives. My children are thriving, I’m working in a career I’m proud of, and we are finally living in a safe, stable home. I will forever be grateful. This place is more than a shelter it is hope, restoration, and a fresh beginning.

My experience at the City of Refuge was truly life-changing. When I arrived, I was overwhelmed and unsure of my next steps, but they gave me the support and stability I needed to get back on my feet. They helped me secure housing, guided me through important resources, and offered constant encouragement every step of the way. The staff was always there for me patient, compassionate, and genuinely invested in my success. They supported my children as well, making sure they were cared for so I could get to work on time and focus on rebuilding our lives. Throughout my time in the program, they motivated me to become the best version of myself and never stopped believing in my potential. Because of their dedication, I was able to leave the program confident, prepared, and hopeful for our future. I am deeply grateful to each and every staff member for the love, encouragement, and stability they provided for me and my children. Their impact on our lives is something I will always cherish.

It is with profound gratitude and deep humility that I reflect upon my time with The House of Cherith and City of Refuge. After facing unforeseen and traumatic experiences, this organization became the very sanctuary and place of restoration I desperately needed. The staff, each one a true blessing, exemplified extraordinary dedication and grace. Their commitment was nothing short of a divine appointment; they poured their care and spiritual guidance into me like no other. We must give all the glory to God for utilizing every individual within this organization to genuinely minister to and love the brokenhearted who seek refuge here. They embraced me exactly where I was in my journey, providing an atmosphere where I could rediscover solace, peace, tranquility, dignity, and integrity, but most importantly, unconditional love. Because of their unwavering support, grounded in faith, I have been able to look onward and forward, never back. The fellowship we built was a testament to perseverance a family connection that, while not always easy, was always achievable. For the genuine love, the steadfast support, and the restorative family environment fostered by The House of Cherith and City of Refuge, I am eternally grateful.

The most unpretentious place of worship I’ve ever been to. Being new to the area I felt very welcomed by the friendly host and church go is there. The band is absolutely amazing and Pastor Tim seems very relatable.
