The center emphasizes emotional intelligence through Conscious Discipline practices while providing academic preparation, nutritious meals, and a family-oriented environment that parents describe as transformative.
As a young mom, finding a place where I felt truly supported and comfortable leaving my child was incredibly important—and Lena Pope Early Learning Center was exactly that. From the very beginning, Mariah and Robin made me feel so welcomed and reassured. Their kindness, professionalism, and genuine care for both children and parents meant the world to me. I always knew my child was safe, loved, and in great hands. I’m so grateful for the positive experience we had here—it gave me confidence and peace of mind during such an important time in both of our lives. Highly recommend!
Lena Pope was a dream for my son and I. My son started at Lena Pope around 9 months old until he was 5. Each teacher holds a special place in my heart, and the entire team. Jennifer C. Is the director of the school and she really cares about the children, staff, and the parents. I never worried about my son, he had great friends and great teachers. The biggest challenge was transitioning out of Lena Pope into the school system. The personal connection the school provides for families is greatly appreciated and missed.
We’ve been at Lena Pope at Sanguinet for over 4 years. The staff is super caring and well trained in conscious discipline which teaches children to breathe, calm themselves and use their frontal lobe to problem solve. Children graduate from the center not only with high emotional intelligence but also well equipped academically. Jennifer Carpenter, the director has many years of experience and is great and compassionate. The only negative comment is that the center is so popular that the wait list is very long for the young gets (infants and early toddlers). The families that attend Lena Pope are very caring towards each other. It is a second family home.
Lena Pope Early learning center is amazing!!! My grandson loves going there. He has learned so much and continues to learn through encouragement and loving support. Jennifer the director knows every child by name. She is very helpful and supportive. We adore everyone there.
We’ve had the great fortune of having 2 children attend Lena Pope Early Learning Center over the last 5 years. The care that our kids received is truly inimitable. Their teachers teach and practice Conscious Discipline, and our kids now know how to calm themselves when they are overwhelmed or upset or how to remove themselves from a situation to calm down, and have the language to describe what they’re feeling. We can count on the breakfast and lunch provided to be nutritious, with a lot of variety in fruits and veggies. They do quite a bit of learning through play, which I absolutely love. That said, both of our kids were very well academically prepared for Kindergarten. It’s not uncommon for there to be a lengthy wait list for Lena Pope ELC, and there truly is a reason for that. It’s 100% worth that wait.
