What Parents Say

Legacy Learning Center has experienced significant decline in quality and consistency. While the Infant II class was initially praised, parents report widespread communication failures, staff turnover, inconsistent policies, and concerning discipline practices. Multiple families withdrew their children due to these issues.

Frustrated I really really loved this school when our child first started. The infant II class was the ABSOLUTE BEST. The front desk staff is amazing. Always greeted with a smile and everyone knows you by name. My satisfaction level with the school as a whole has greatly decreased since then. Communication is a HUGE issue. On any given day you can get different information from teachers in the same classroom. This information is also not in sync with the information you get from the director. It’s been more than a few times I’ve asked a classroom teacher a question and get a blank stare of flat out I don’t know. Tuition is going up every 6 months but I the value is not. Based on the increases, our tuition has remained the same as the infant II rate for two years. One of the main reasons I chose LLC was the reputation of the teachers however, those teachers are long gone and I am finding it really hard to find reasons to stay. I have been in the place before and decided not to leave but after talking to other parents I know I am not alone.

I have so much to complain about this school, I don't even know where to start. The tuition fee went up every 6 months. They keep accepting new students and keep moving my daughter to the next class, where she was in the class before for only 2 months. The front people are so fake and very unfriendly, I passed them my check every week and yet none of them remember my last name, let alone my first name. I wanted to move my daughter even after 2 months because of the service, but because she found a best friend, I don't have a heart to move her. The teachers are not so great, they are good at complain to drop your kid at 9am sharp, and reminded you to bring supply for class party. I pay $200 a week, they can't even provide napkin for the parties. once I was 15 minutes late picking up my girl, they charge me $31. I hate Legacy Learning Center, and I can't wait to finally move my daughter to another school.

My daughter started LLC in March this year in their Infant II class. Reason we selected LLC was their infant II teachers. Here are both Pros and Cons of LLC: PROS: 1) Their infant II teachers were great 2) They have smiling faces on concierge greeting you every morning 3) Entire staff know your kid by name 4) Their student to teacher ratio is better than any other school in the area CONS: There biggest negative is LACK OF COMMUNICATION. They do not communicate anything and create huge communication gap. 1) They changed the teachers WITHOUT ANY communication to the parents. As if, parents do not need to know who is handling their baby every day. But we continued to send our daughter there because she was happy. 2) They transitioned our daughter to toddler I section and came to know that when I explicitly asked. There was no need from their side to discuss this with parents beforehand. 3) A 1 week transition period started, during which my daughter was supposed to be transitioned gradually, but they started to put her in next class all of a sudden. They were giving her milk (from home) in infant II, which was strictly stopped the very next day and poor child was left starving. When asked, the answer was IT IS AGAINST OUR POLICIES. It was their duty to gradually make her used to not having milk, if at all it was required. 4) I was always concerned about her lunch, and used to ask it every day if she ate well. I was getting different statements from different staff members. The final day, after 2 weeks of her transition, I was told she never ate ANYTHING in the class. My poor girl was starving each day. I requested the director if I can send something from home while she is adjusting. But alas, it was AGAINST THEIR POLICIES. Top of all the director suggested me to give my daughter, heavy breakfast and dinner, so IT IS OKAY IF SHE STARVES THE WHOLE DAY. 5) She looked drained out and sad every day in toddler class and I definitely knew something was wrong. We are happy we took the decision of pulling her out of LLC

My only experience with this center is in the Infant II room and briefly in the Toddler room. My daughter was there from 6 months old - 17 months. If you are looking for a daycare...with an emphasis on “care” then I would not recommend LLC of Plano. Things started okay, or at least appeared so, until I started paying closer and closer attention to the live camera feed of my daughters classroom. Her along with one other child (a male) were always separated and in their cribs, not during nap time but at random times of the day. I asked the staff about it and they said my daughter along with the other infant were in time out. Ms. Melanie the lead teacher in Infant II, with the most experience (3 years) called it “baby jail” and actually thought it was funny to say that to a parent.Never once did the staff tell me she was being isolated or put in “baby jail” in her crib, I actually had to call while watching the live camera feed and not one staff member could tell me why she was in timeout. The director Ms.Anna said they think my daughter scratched a kid by mistake because of my daughters long fingernails. Yet no accident report was sent home to me or anything, literally I had to call every single time I saw her crying on camera in her crib while the other children played and had story time. At one point when they finally took her out the crib to play along with the other children, I saw my daughter reach for a hug from Ms. Sarah and she walked away from her. (all of this I have saved on my phone from recording) Still, being a new mom, I thought maybe this is their discipline policy and maybe I failed to ask about it when we started her there. After doing research I found that it’s actually considered child abuse and neglect to use such harsh disciplinary actions on an infant and timeout is supposed to be a very last resort and not to exceed the length of a child’s age in one minute increments. My daughter was 16 months, therefore if the timeout was warranted it should have been 1 minute. But no, it was on average 4-10 minutes.I know one of the other children’s names so if you are a parent and had a child in the Infant II room please reach out to me as you may also see the same being done to your child. The straw that broke the camels back, I picked my daughter up earlier than my usual time, she was the only child in the classroom and she was in her crib crying and screaming for her teacher. I saw Ms. Sarah , the teacher, standing over my daughters crib with her arms folded shaking her head “no” to my daughters pleas and cries to let her out of “baby jail”, the crib. That image will never leave my mind. My daughter was only 15 months old, it was 4:45PM, she had one of the 10 illnesses that she got from that class and I couldn’t believe Ms. Sarah could be so cruel as to watch a sick child cry and scream for comfort. As soon as I walked in I grabbed my daughter and held her tight and just apologized for putting her in that type of environment. What could a 15 month old have possibly done to deserve not to be consoled while crying bloody murder and there were no other children in the classroom at the time. So aside from the mental and emotional abuse done to the infants, because she wasn’t the only child they were doing it to, but the constant disease and illness that circulates around that center is scary. What I will say, please read the reviews from the employees on job posting sites such as glassdoor or indeed because even the current and former employers review anonymously how there were times they didn’t have cleaning supplies and how they are all underpaid etc. Trust me when I tell you, If you take a tour of the school, be on the lookout for the yellow signs and white forms on the outside of the classrooms, it’s a list of the current illnesses for that specific classroom at the present time.

I have been extremely impressed with ownership. They consistently demonstrate the highest values and have a real passion as educators. I can't imagine a more professional staff and better environment to shape a young person's mind. I highly recommend Legacy Learning Centers, check them out you won't be disappointed!
