Our experience at Jeanie’s over the last 2 years has been remarkable. Our daughter absolutely loves going to school each day and some days doesn’t want to leave! She has developed strong rapport with all of her teachers as she has progressed through the classes. The hours are extremely flexible and Jean will do everything she can to work with you and your child’s schedule. It gives us such peace of mind to know that our daughter is in such good hands while we’re at work. Many other medical professionals who work at nearby UNM Hospital also take their children here and speak highly of it.
Jeanie's is wonderful! My daughter has attended this daycare for 3 years, and was the third school we tried. The teachers greet every child every morning with enthusiasm and are great at swooping in and grabbing my daughter when she is sad about being dropped off. While there are themes and field trips, the focus here is not on prep for elementary school...there is a major emphasis on play and imagination. I will say that this is not a daycare for helicopter parents. Jeannie can be blunt, but she has a heart of gold and is very protective of her flock. We love it here.
Our children are safe and well cared for at Jeanie’s Child Development Center. Team Jean has cared for our children since 2009, and we highly recommend them to everyone. The Director Jeanie is practical and reasonable, and her staff are focused on wonderful care, play, and learning for all of the children.
Reading these reviews about the owner “Jean” I am not surprised. My daughter had been having a severe eczema issue, so at home everything was washed to try and help. When I picked her up the next day from Jeanie’s her shirt was changed. I asked Jeanie if she knew what happened to her shirt and she rudely told me she didn’t know and I should ask my daughter(4yr old). My daughter said the “bee’s were itching her”, then Jean stormed off saying she doesn’t have time for this. ...but I was still concerned if my daughter was itching so bad her shirt was changed or if it was a simple water day??? That night my daughter was up till 1am crying and saying the “bee’s were itching her”, which upset me because I genuinely needed to know why she was saying that and was she changed because of the itchy shirt? I asked Jean the next morning if she had found out. Jean told my child to go inside and began to aggressively tell me she wasn’t going to be doing this and that I can just take her. I took my daughter and left. I work with CYFD and will spread the word of our treatment here. I have always tried to show my appreciation to the staff and have even brought them bagels. But no matter how nice of a staff, the owner is not a kind person and far from professional.
We have been going to Jeanies for awhile and my son loves it there! We get great communication and pictures about his day. All the kids seem to be happy and having a good time thanks to the wonderful staff.
