I recently conducted a professional development training for the staff at Laurelwood. I am coach for Preschool teachers who children with challenging behaviors. I was honored to be invited to lead a staff training. The owner, the director Kasey, and her staff are truly wonderful. I got to tour their facility, and I was truly impressed on how they operate their school. I can tell their environment is conducive on helping children learn and thrive that is developmentally appropriate and based on children's interest. I would HIGHLY recommend any parent to enroll their child at this school.
My son started at Laurelwood last year and has really thrived. His communication and language skills have drastically increased, he is learning to write his name, knows his numbers and alphabet but also knows how to do things independently like put his jacket on and zip it up, helps clean his play room and puts his snack trash away at home. What we love the most is that his teachers really know him and make him feel valued and seen every day. We are so grateful we can confidently drop our child off every day and know he is in good hands.
My son has attended laurelwood for almost a year now and I cannot say enough good things. We are moving and are so sad to leave.. after reading so many horrible reviews of other preschools and childcare centers I wanted to leave a review for Laurelwood. The director (Ms Kasey) is absolutely wonderful, the teachers are all so caring, and the kids get to spend so much time playing outdoors, as opposed to your standard “30 minute” playtime windows you find at other schools. The amount of flexibility you get with times is unlike any other preschool as well. The kids go 8-2:30 but can go earlier or can stay later as long as you sign up and they have space/are in ratio, which has been amazing. The teachers and director go above and beyond to help your kids. My son had never been to school before and would get so distressed at naptime, even occasionally throwing up, and the director would let him stay in her office until I picked him up, they helped me troubleshoot ideas to get him more comfortable, and were SO communicative and transparent about everything. I never felt in the dark and truly felt like my son was well taken care of and loved. We toured so many schools trying to find one like this but there is no other school like laurelwood and I cannot recommend it enough.
Both our kids attended Laurelwood...loved the teachers, the school, ...everything!
