Lakewood Montessori School #2 LLC

LM has been my support tribe while navigating working full-time and motherhood. Dedicated staffers that have been there since my children started provide love and safety while I am away at work. When the weather is nice, they get the kiddos out to play and always find ways to celebrate the seasons to keep things engaging and fun. Very thankful for LM!

I’m not usually one to leave reviews unless they’re negative, but my daughter has been attending Lakewood Montessori for almost a year, and the staff absolutely deserves recognition. They’ve done a fantastic job supporting her development. She is currently in the Toddler room with Ms. Arliss, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about her and her classroom. My daughter stayed at home during her first year and used to cry every time we dropped her off at school. Now, she has completely grown out of that stage and runs to Ms. Arliss every morning. The love and care Ms. Arliss shows my daughter and all of her classmates is truly special, and we appreciate her more than words can say. We’ve never had a bad experience with any of the teachers at Lakewood Montessori, but we wanted to give a special shout-out to Ms. Arliss for everything she does. THANK YOU!

Lakewood Montessori is an excellent school located in Lees Summit!! The staff is professional and they care about the wellbeing of the children that attend. From what I observed. My son attended Lakewood Montessori from 9 months old until 2 half years old. The reason I withdraw my son from Lakewood Montessori is because of a temporary move. The director of Lakewood Montessori Help me and my family when I needed help!! To place my son in school asap. When several schools in the area told me no there is a waiting list! I will give Lakewood Montessori 5 stars!!

I did a tour here last year for my 4 year old son that has autism. I asked the woman giving the tour if she thought the school would be a good fit for my son since he has autism and I didn’t want to waste their time or mine. She literally asked me “What’s autism?” And I had to explain to this woman that works with children inside a school what autism is. Immediately knew that was not the place for us. The place may be great for neurotypical kids, but just wanted to share for other special needs parents looking for childcare. Following up to the owner’s response: My tour date was in June 2024. The woman giving the tour was an admin or secretary. She was an elderly woman with white hair. My fiancé can attest that she asked us that question because we were completely shocked. I did not make a review sooner because that woman made me feel so embarrassed about my special needs son. I felt horrible that a place was apparently so ill equipped to handle a special needs child that one of your staff-the elderly woman-literally asked me “What’s autism?” I hope your staff continues to receive skills and training so all children feel safe and get their needs met while coming to school here.

Lakewood Montessori has been such a wonderful place for my children. My twins have been going there since they were 9months old and to see how much they have grown and learned now at 3 years old is amazing. My children are kind, responsible, friendly, confident all thanks to the curriculum and staff. Jasmine and her assistant Lillie have been very influential in my children’s development. It is hard to leave your children somewhere that are not family, but these two truly care and value their students. So thankful for them!
