RUN!! Spent everything I had to get there from Florida after being misled only to sleep in my car with my young daughter and dog who died in the car that night and i dont have any heat we left Colorado a shell of a human with our souls ripped out and broke with half of a 2004 Toyota left after the cross country trip and mis information and terrible attitude towards the needy and homeless who have already experienced great traumas. Carly was so rude for no reason and condescending attitude from Deseri as well no compassion.
Great people that really care about the community and the need of the people. Helped me when I was down and I don't forget things like that. Pictures I took are from candle light vigil for education and awareness of our homeless community and those in need. I now have a job in Salida, living the dream. Got me a very nice suite to live in now. I wanted to live here since I came to Colorado and none of it would have happened without La Puente and it's staffs help. I owe you guys. Thank you 🫶❤️✌️😎

This shelter truly embodies what every shelter should strive for. After countless rejections from other shelters, their compassion and support were a breath of fresh air, offered without bias.
