La Fitness Kids Klub - Austell Road

LA Fitness (Austell Rd) - Yikes! After being unimpressed with the Kennesaw location, I decided to visit this LA Fitness in Austell to see if it was any different. This one was even worse. I am not sure if there is a decline with this brand, but something is not right. The facility is dirty. When I used the treadmill, I had to hunt down wipes for the machine. There seems to be more of a focus on upselling other products—advertisements are everywhere—but the carpet, equipment, and atmosphere feel old. I felt sad since I am an older person, and many of the other members I saw are older, too. I just felt like we deserve better. The aqua class was cancelled due to a pool issue, and many of the members who drove out for the class complained that this is a frequent occurrence. I decided to join a different gym.

I’ve been a member here for about four years, and overall this gym has been a really positive part of my routine. I genuinely enjoy coming here — the community, most of the staff, and the consistency have kept me loyal for years. I’ve also been attending cycling/spin class regularly (about three times a week for the past two months), and it’s one of my favorite offerings. However, there’s been an ongoing issue that I hope management will address soon. Several bikes (quantity four) have been out of order for quite a while, yet the class roster still allows more reservations than there are working bikes. This has created some unnecessary stress for members who reserve spots but may not have equipment available when they arrive. I did bring this up with the front desk, and I appreciate that staff are friendly and approachable. I’m hopeful this feedback helps bring visibility to the issue so it can be resolved. With a little attention to equipment maintenance and class logistics, this gym could be even better than it already is. I’m sharing this because I care about the experience here and want to see it continue to improve.

Update: sauna bench repaired Update: 9/2 women’s sauna still only Partly available for sitting. Manager stated over two weeks ago that materials are on site and repairs would be made. No integrity or accountability. Update: 8/26 another week and the sauna is only partially available. Today I was in the sauna with 7 other women and some had to stand up because half of the bench is broken. Not sure if this is a franchise or corporate but either way, it’s unacceptable. Update: 8/19 A week later and half of the sauna is still unavailable for seating. Manager said materials were on site and repairs would be made by end of last week. 8/12 I only go to this gym for the sauna. The equipment looks like it’s covered in crust from COVID, broken and unsafe. Half of the women’s sauna is out of service because the bench is about to fall apart. When it’s busy we pack into the sauna like sardines. Management told me it’s not that busy and the bench has only been broken for a week. That’s a lie. A lot of excuses. I’ve found condoms on the restroom floor and toilets full of 💩. The reviews about this facility being less than satisfactory are true. I’ve cancelled 3 memberships here but I return because my job makes it affordable. Unfortunate!

1. This gym is never clean. Every morning, it is dirty and there are never paper towels or hand sanitizer in machines. 2. Machines are old and always lean off hinges. 3. All the photos in the facility are of Caucasian people working out and there is one black person on the wall all the way in the back of building. The majority of the people I see are of other races but are not represented. 4. The person at front desk is never watching who comes in gym because they are working out.

This gym would be half decent if the members weren't so rude. No one has any manners whatsoever, not one sense of courtesy or respect for others. Not only that, but most of the machines/benches are taken by people who are chit chatting and doing everything but working out. Don't occupy 4 machines at once!!! Goodness gracious
