What Parents Say
These reviews are for LA Fitness gym, not a daycare center. The facility receives mixed feedback with praise for cleanliness, equipment, and certain staff members, but criticism regarding pricing, maintenance issues, customer service inconsistency, and contract cancellation difficulties.
I’ve been with LA Fitness for 2 and half weeks and already out of pocket $200 on fees alone and I have the most basic package. The employee who signed me up was not fully forth coming and I guess I’m not surprised. My kids can’t come with me because that’s an extra $60. No pickle ball that’s an extra fee as well. So let’s say for a month of basic gym shit $200. Highly over priced and it’s always busy. I’m disappointed to learn this is just another big company milking their customers. This gym journey was personal for me but I’ll be cancelling my membership. It’s not worth the money. Going over to Planet Fitness which is significantly cheaper and friendlier !
I just had to take a moment to shout out Josephine Cooke at the front desk, she is truly one of the best parts of coming to this gym. Every time I walk in, Josephine greets me with genuine warmth and professionalism. She remembers members by name, answers questions with patience, and always goes the extra mile to make sure everyone feels welcomed and taken care of. Whether she’s helping someone set up their membership, explaining class schedules, or just brightening the room with her upbeat energy, Josephine sets the tone for a positive workout experience. It’s rare to find staff who are both incredibly friendly and efficient, but she nails it every single day. Huge appreciation for Josephine—her dedication and kindness make this gym feel like a community, not just a place to work out!
I have been trying to cancel my training sessions due to medical reasons (documented and submitted) . Taylor I believe who is the GM that negotiated my pricing has been missing in action. We had had a lengthy conversation before I signed up and he was able to confirm that the only way I'd be able to get out of a contract would be if there was a medical reason.Louis has been trying to get a hold of him to facilitate the cancellation it in futility. I addition to Louis efforts I also tried to get a hold of Taylor sending him texts attached with medical documentation attached. This is a poor representation of such a franchise and simply ridiculous. DO BETTER!!
The customer service is not great. I went in needing help setting up my account on the phone app, and the guy at front desk was playing mini soccer with his buddy. He wouldn't step away from his game for 5 minutes just to help me, and eventually when he did, he inputted my information incorrectly. I just left and figured it out on my own, but it was disappointing that the front desk wouldn't give me the time of day to help me with such a simple task. Other than that, it's a gym a with decent equipment, not much else to it.
I have been coming to this gym for over 11 years, and for 10 of them, this was the best place to work on my basketball skillset and also my personal fitness; however, this year has been an absolute nightmare. With already having to deal with the pool being closed for months, faulty equipment, missing dumbells, and other workout accessories it has been deeply depressing coming inside and seeing chains on a door with no explanation as to why and a week later being told the gym is back open only to walk into a court with a missing rim with no explanation from the front desk as to why. I cant even do drills because its 10 ppl using the other half of the court that has a rim. I truly feel that this gym has taken a major decline all around and does not live up to the standards or the expectations that it once had in previous years 👎🏿👎🏿
