We absolutely love La Cañada Preschool! The staff went above and beyond to support our 2-year-old’s adjustment to starting preschool, and now he’s so happy and excited to go each day. The teachers are warm, nurturing, and clearly well-trained in early childhood education. We like that children of different ages are grouped together, much like in the Swedish school system—one of the highest-rated in the world—which encourages social development and learning through peer interaction. The teacher-to-student ratio is excellent, ensuring plenty of individual attention. The balance of free Montessori-style outdoor play and structured circle time is just what we were looking for, and the abundance of arts and crafts is a huge plus. We couldn’t be happier—thank you, La Cañada Preschool, for being such a wonderful place for our little one! A true gem of a place. My girls love this preschool and the teachers and director who are friendly, sweet, and very flexible. My girls feel safe and cared for. I love their play/nature based model which is developmentally appropriate and in line with our family values for their toddler age. They have a shaded real sand/dirt field for the kids, which is a gem and very difficult to find at other schools these days (this was important to me). They also set up different play/project stations throughout the school day. If ever there is a question or concern, I have found the teachers and director welcoming and willing to work with me on developing a plan of action. My children have been so happy there and I am so grateful to LCPS for the beautiful memories and helping to inspire a lifelong love for learning.
We had a great experience at La Canada Pre School! Nice teachers and kids, affordable, similar to Montessori / play based model (my son loved the sand and benefitted from getting to know kids of different ages), very flexible schedule offerings for both part and full days. We look forward to bringing our younger kids back!
The teachers are so warm an nurturing, they keep the kids just the right amount of busy, leaving plenty of time to play, and all of the other kids and parents we’ve interacted with here have been wonderful. Our daughter told us just last week, verbatim, “I love my preschool.” We love your preschool, too, kiddo.
