The staff at this KinderCare location are wonderful. It's been a tough year for the teachers and caregivers with a lot of turnover, but with a new Director since early Summer things have really settled down. Great job. Our sone has been here since he was five months old and is now almost 3. The staff there feel like family and care for our son in a really wonderful manner. Shout out to Miss Hannah who is such a fun teacher!
Our son started this fall in the toddler program when I went back to work full time and he often would cry when I dropped him off (we both did!) but the staff always told me he stopped within 5 minutes after I’d leave! It’s hard to leave your child but we are a really happy with the facility and staff at Kindercare. My husband is a teacher of older students and he is always so impressed with the amount of patience the staff has! I look forward to updates and pictures sent on the app throughout my day! My son’s teacher Miss Emily always tells me how much she enjoys having him in her class. She had not seen him for awhile due to scheduling and she gave him a big hug last week when she saw him and he was also very happy to see her. You can tell how much she enjoys being around all of our little ones and has a special relationship with each of them. We have noticed a big change in just three months and how much he is talking now! When I drop him off now he walks right in, sits down in his classroom and hardly notices when I leave. He also doesn’t want to leave when my husband pics him up in the afternoon because he’s having so much fun!
KinderCare at Huntington is a great facility! The teachers send photos and updates throughout the day which is so impressive because in addition to caring for so many babies, they’re making sure the parents stay updated on their children’s days. I cannot say enough amazing things about Miss Angela, Miss Kim, and Miss Jackie. They go above and beyond to make sure my son is taken care of, happy, and meeting his milestones. He absolutely beams when he sees them in the morning which makes leaving him a little bit easier.
Director Amanda has definitely improved the overall quality of experience at this Kindercare location. The greatest strength has been my son's teachers in the infant classroom. Miss Angela and Miss Kim truly care about the babies in their class. I am so grateful that they have supported our family through our baby's first year.
Unfortunately I have to leave this review for other parents and give honest feedback on my daughter’s first experience at a daycare. I work 6 minutes away at the hospital for context. She’s been there since July and I was assuming by now I would be able to be at work and feel comfortable-that my daughter is safe, being watched, and not being hurt and getting injuries from other children. It’s becoming a regular routine at pickup that I get handed a slip with a “sorry” that my daughter has been “scratched” again or “bit”. I’m not understanding how it get escalated to that point without a teacher stepping in. At pickup the kids are on chairs or running around grabbing each other and the teachers don’t seem to pay much attention considering for example my daughter was sneezing and had boogies come up, my daughter will try to get it off and smear it all over. By 3pm it is crusted on her face so hard . The one time my mom picked up my daughter for me she asked me why they don’t wipe the children’s noses and how my daughter had snot all over her face. The teachers in the morning are great. At pickup they act like you are not even in the room to pickup your child unless of course I’m being handed another “incident report”. I’m very disappointed that I had to ASK the director to send an email to parents to ask them to cut the children’s finger nails so my daughter doesn’t keep gettting scratched. I had to literally send an email with a picture of my daughter’s face asking if she could email the parents to cut the nails. The situation was not rectified. So what’s the next step? I 100% should not have to find a new daycare or job because I’m scared my daughters not being watched or protected at daycare for 7.5 hours and she’s asleep for 2 of them. 5 hours should be not that long to make sure a child is in the condition they were dropped off in. Daycare costs money that we work for. So I do think I have a right to post an HONOST opinion. If I could I would’ve spoken directly to someone in management and given them my stack of incident reports. Or maybe I should call DSS and they can stop funding them. I’m not sure all I know is I want my child to look the same way I dropped her off in. I never drop her off dirty! I set her up before I leave! I constantly am being understanding that things happen but enough is enough…..It’s also upsetting that I pay for daycare and STILL take her with me to doctors appts ect. Things I should be able to utilize daycare for. She only goes when I’m desperate and have no backup.
