What Parents Say
KinderCare Bremerton receives mixed reviews with strong praise from satisfied families highlighting caring teachers, educational activities, secure facilities, and daily app updates. However, several parents report serious issues including chronic understaffing leading to turned-away families, billing errors, health/hygiene concerns (lice), and problematic staff behavior.
Posting a review as this Kindercare literally made me lose my job. For starters, often times when I would bring my child, we would have to wait in the mornings for “more staff to arrive”. My son got lice twice in the 1 month he attended this location, and several times there were incidents that took place. They lost his paperwork twice and then I never filled it out the third time, but they never remembered to request it again. Obviously there’s major clerical issues. There was a billing error on their behalf and even after speaking with Lana several times about getting it reconciled so my son could start his NEW location, she never fixed it and therefore my son has not been able to attend daycare for a week and I was let go as a result, which I explained on 3 separate phone calls would inevitably happen if she didn’t fix the issue. I was advised she is short staffed and she doesn’t have time to correct it. sloppy staff, and will never use another Kindercare.
I have had my kids in this daycare for a long time. The daycare policy is if a parent has not called to inform the teachers they will be running late then cps is called, I called multiple times and spoke to 3 different teachers letting them know I was going to be late due to traffic from a car accident, I texted Ms lana because and spoke to someone at the center, I received a call from Ms Lana shortly after threatening to call cps if I was late again. Even though I am following policy to the full extent. I attempted to speak I with them about it this morning and instead of holding herself accountable and apologizing, Ms Lana tried to cover up her actions in threatening me. Keep in mind this month only they are closing at 5:15pm when normally it is 6pm. So we ALL have had to rearrange schedules and deal with leaving work early due to their lack of preparation. My daughter is being bullied by her classmates and had something stuck up her nose and is constantly getting pushed. A new teacher was talking and told someone in front of my 5 year old daughter that I do not feed my kids, and I do. There is no reason for the to be done in front of my child. I have left a previous review under Grace (see below)
We’ve been enrolled for two months and have only been able to utilize their care for 17 total days due to short staffing. We are often not given notice and turned away at the door, or given an hours notice. We’ve requested a partial discount due to having to miss work and/or find alternative care. We have not received the discount and have not been able to contact the center director when we drop off or pickup, or by phone during the day. Often when we see them in the morning it seems like they are hiding from the angry parents wanting to discuss these issues. We have also witnessed other children exposing themselves, as recent as today, and often have to wait an hour for staff to arrive before we can complete drop off when we are able to utilize this center. We have tried coming in earlier to beat the rush, we have tried waiting until close to 9, still the problem persists. We’ve also witnessed the kitchen employee yelling at other staff members in front of the children and on occasion raising their voice to the children. We’re transferring care for these and other reasons.
Really great teachers, always concerned with my son's care and were genuinely interested in getting to know him and our family! My only issue was the problem of 'available space': so if we were late going in and didn't call to verify (as a substitute teacher, sometimes the mornings would be rather hectic), there may not be enough space in my son's classroom to care for him. This posed a problem, particular if I needed to go into work, and my back-up sitter was unavailable. Communication could have been better between admin and parents, but otherwise--affordable, consistent, engaging care, fun curriculum, and I would say my son had an overall wonderful experience.
I have been taking my daughter there for about two years. She started in the younger class and advanced quickly adjusting well. Her teacher at the time was Chelsea and my daughter loved her. She was newly potty trained and Chelsea worked with her on that. They moved her up because she was so advanced and she had Gina. My daughter loves her and still gives her hugs. Gina always spent time with her when she got there and I never had a problem with her not wanting me to leave. She outgrew that class and moved on to ms Chris. You can tell Chris has been doing this a long time and genuinely likes to spend time with the children. It can get a little crazy in there but it's full of children! All with their own stories and issues and values! You can tell they make an effort to get to know each child. Her journey is almost over and she will go to kindergarten in September and I will cry when I don't see all of these people every day. It is a heavy thing to trust someone with your child so you can work and they carried the weight. I am grateful for all of the teachers and staff who have contributed to my daughter's life, and I love, and will miss them all!
