I had my first son at KinderCare North Tacoma for two years, but we decided to leave this year. Overall, I felt that the preschool program lacked sufficient focus on learning and structured play. The children spent most of their time in free play, and unwanted behaviors were not always addressed appropriately. My son also came home using words we don’t use at home, which was concerning. While I appreciate the playground area, there are only two large bikes that every child wants to ride during outdoor time. Adding more bikes and incorporating more organized outdoor activities would be beneficial. Cleanliness and classroom organization seemed to depend heavily on the teacher — my son’s class was often disorganized and not very clean, though I noticed another classroom was much better managed. The classroom space also felt quite small for 20 preschoolers. My son often resisted going and drop-offs were difficult, even though he did have a few friends he enjoyed playing with. He now loves his new preschool and is thriving there. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this location unless there are no other available options.

We LOVE this daycare I can’t say enough about how patient and supportive the teachers are. Both my children have been here since infants my daughter started at 4 months, my son started at 2 months. We have been here for years and this place is amazing. They have a new director who is wonderful and very knowledgeable on children education and development. The lunches are amazing as well my kids are excited for breakfast every morning and my kids often feel at home here. I was a previous employee and still bring my children here. That should tell you all you need to know.

We love this daycare! My children are always so happy to see their friends and teachers. My daughter struggles a little with behavior and the directors work closely with us to work with her. They have a nice playground, bikes, they do water days. My daughter loved doing the soccer services they provide as well. I highly recommend!

Very nice place. Staff knows how to work well with kids and they provide extracurriculars and organize a lot of family activities like “muffins with mom”, summer barbecues and water days.

As soon as my daughter hit the 1 year old room, she waved GOODBYE to me when I dropped her off at daycare. Before age 1 was hard, but after that was a dream. She has a thoughtful curriculum, comes home singing new songs, teaching us new sign language, doing a full dance to 'wheels on the bus' and is great at playing with other kids. The activities they do are fabulous - pumpkin carving in the fall, painting in the summer, learning to spread sunbutter, shadow boxes, all very creative ideas. There is no way we could have taught her at the same level if she stayed at home, the interaction is great. She also gets 2 hours of sleep for a regular nap, loves her schedule and we receive daily photos of her time at school. Miss Leila is a constant presence at KinderCare in North Tacoma and she is just fantastic. Love the teachers and the staff. Thanks for all you do.
