Children reportedly thrive emotionally and behaviorally at the center, with parents highlighting strong staff-child relationships and engaging programs including sports, field trips, and educational activities.
My children love the Al Davies boys and girls club. They offer affordable childcare and offered emergency childcare during the pandemic. Mrs. Makenzie and Ms. Katie are the best they go above and beyond to provide a sense of safety. My kids have been to other daycares and out of all of them they thrived the most here. They built a bond with the staff and other children and loved the summer camp. My son has had behavior problems in the past and he did so well at Al Davies it was like night and day. Thank you guys so much for all that you do!
My kids come here for summer camp and it's pretty great. My oldest goes to B&G after school somewhere else but Al Davies for summer and his little brother goes with him now. They're good about transferring information over for the free lunch program (which reduces the fee by a chunk) but the best part is the lower fee for siblings. That saved a lot. Front desk staff are very helpful and seem to remember nearly every kids' names after a week or so. The staff walking around with the kids also seem great and several of them genuinely seem happy to work with kids - encouraging them and praising them for their good work. Both of mine have come home with little reward messages for being great kids and it's awesome that children are recognized for being nice. There's a computer lab right inside the entrance with laptops for them to use and then a huge play area with what looks like foosball and other games. The kids can be unruly sometimes but, that's kids and it seems like they're really on top of managing difficult kids. They have a list of things they don't allow and a strike system for kids that really misbehave. Unfortunately, sometimes the good kids are punished with the bad if the whole group is being too loud and not listening but, again, I can't knock them for that. Outside is a large field for play time and activities. Speaking of activities, they usually have a big activity a week that you can sign your kids up for. Like going to a swimming pool or a movie or the zoo or something like that. Limited spaces but you're given a list ahead of time. They've also had a local highschool come over and do cool projects like building robots with Lego Mindstorms. So there's a good mix of physical and mental stuff going on.
I can only say positive things about this place. Well there is one thing they could change but it could just be my kid. My sons spent the summer here and it was perfect. The staff was very professional and willing to talk about any issues that came up. I was very satisfied here.
I cant thank Al Davies enough! As an adult,Coach an past player .I continually reflect back on valuable lessons on an off the court developed there.Vital social skills in an atmosphere that promotes individual growth thru sports an activities.Truly a safe haven for me as a youth.Inside those walls represented a place that no matter what the streets had to offer Al Davies gave us all much more.Thank you Al Davies.
The Staff are really annoying and choose boring activities for the kids, I want to have fun doing what I love and the boys and girls club is not supporting that 👎🤝 but much respect for them
