What Parents Say
Parents consistently praise Penny Creek Kindercare for exceptional staff quality, strong leadership, and individualized care for children. Directors Janina and Lilia are frequently mentioned by name for their attentiveness and responsiveness to parent needs. The center is noted for its engaging learning activities, flexibility during challenging situations like COVID, and for making children feel genuinely loved and cared for.
Enrolling here means: Loud teachers (untrained and unprofessional) who know kids dislike being sent to other classrooms, so they threaten them by saying that if they don’t listen, they will be “tossed” to another classroom A director who tries to be super sweet but lies Canned food — usually giving crackers even when one fruit or milk is promised for the afternoon snack. I even double-checked with the classroom teacher, who confirmed the kids were not given fruit or milk, yet the assistant director would insist otherwise when asked on the same day No STEM — kids would trace a random English letter one day, then no tracing for straight two weeks, and then the third week they are tracing Spanish words; no proper curriculum. Teachers playing YouTube videos in the classrooms (without informing parents) I get that it’s not a pricey daycare but it honestly feels more like simple babysitting. The kids mostly play on their own, and there’s a different teacher almost every day at pickup. You never see the morning teachers at pickup time. Noah's Arc, Bright Horizons, Primrose, Kiddie Academy- which are far better and may be a bit pricey- there classrooms are much cleaner more structured and some of them provide fresh meals with fresh fruits)
Our kids have attended Penny Creek Kindercare for three years now and we have had a wonderful experience, especially the last two years with Ashley, and now Lilia, as the directors. My youngest knows and loves every teacher, even the teachers in the older kid's rooms! Their teachers are incredibly kind and patient and communicate what we need to know daily for the best interest of our kids. After seeing another daycare recently and interacting with their staff, we know this is absolutely the best place in this area for our kids to be. Highly recommend!
I am a former parent of a child who attended toddler classes at KinderCare Penny Creek, and I feel compelled to share my deeply negative experience with this location. The level of professionalism displayed by the teachers in the toddler rooms was shocking and disappointing. The way they interacted with each other, parents, and even fellow staff members, all in front of the children, was unacceptable. My decision to remove my child from KinderCare was prompted by a distressing incident that occurred while he was under their care. After dropping him off, I received pictures of him looking sad, crying, and appearing increasingly isolated from his peers. When I arrived to pick him up, the staff informed me that he had been difficult that day, yet they did nothing to console or comfort him. To my horror, when I changed him at home, I discovered three bruised bite marks on his body. I immediately attempted to reach the manager to discuss the situation, but my calls went unanswered for an unacceptable amount of time. After sending photos of my child's injuries, it took days for the staff to respond. When I finally managed to arrange a meeting with the director, it took an excruciating ten days to happen. The explanation provided was that a substitute teacher was present during lunchtime, and they implied that this was when the incident occurred. However, they failed to file an incident report or adequately address the situation with the regular teacher. In a misguided attempt to give KinderCare another chance, I sent my child back for one more day. Unfortunately, I was met with the same distressing images of my child upset and crying, while the teachers continued to neglect comforting him. When I picked him up early, I was met with insinuations that my child’s struggles were due to a possible autism diagnosis, which was both inappropriate and unhelpful. This experience took a significant emotional toll on our family, and it took a while for me to write this review. If I could give zero stars, I would. The lack of professionalism, care, and proper routine among the teachers and staff was concerning. I strongly advise against enrolling your child at KinderCare Penny Creek. I sincerely hope that significant changes are made at this location to ensure the safety and happiness of the children in their care.
Everyone has been mostly positive. Front desk and teachers respond to messages. Not much solid learning. Security is fine. Lunch is really meh and my child hates the lunches there 80% of time. I would recommend if you don’t care about solid learning that prepares them for a rigorous kindergarten curriculum.
I would never recommend this location to a family member or a friend. The director and teachers are unprofessional, avoidant, and truly don’t care. My son got bit 3 times in one day and I came home to the shock of bruises on my child body. When I called the location to figure out what happened it took the staff days to respond to me. It took 10 days for the director to set up a meeting with me and through it all the failed to file an incident report. I sent him back in hopes that it would have to get better and immediately I was regretfully wrong. I got pictures of my son sad and crying rather than comforting my toddler they told me that they were difficult and they insinuated that they have autism. I was shocked that they would deflect their lack of compassion and push it onto a toddler trying to express that they were sad. I left with my child and never went back. It took my child’s bruises 8 days to heal they were bit that hard. I send this in hope that parents would reconsider before sending their child to this location and in hopes for the staff to change or have proper training for present and future students sake.
