What Parents Say
KinderCare Woodinville has received 9 reviews with mostly 5-star ratings praising staff warmth, communication through their app, educational development, and child happiness. However, two 1-star reviews allege serious incidents involving mishandling of special needs children and alleged abuse by staff members.
Teachers here are very nice and attentive. Check on/out process is easy, gets lots of daily updates and photos on the app, do a good job of communicating any incidents. As kids learn how to socialize with each other there's going to be friction that they use as teaching moments and tell us about it. Food seems to be kid friendly and they are sensitive of allergies. Our child has been going here for 2 years and will probably keep going until she's in school.
Our daughter has been going here two years now and loves the place. The teachers are amazing and make genuine relationships with the children. We get monthly updates on the lesson plans and every day videos/photos are posted to the KinderCare app that is used for the parents, and it is great to see. We will be sending our son to this place very soon.
We are fortunate enough to have two children attending, one in preschool and the other in the infant classroom. Our preschooler just turned three and counts past 20, recognizes all his letters, and can name all of his shapes. Multiple times per week my son is asking to go back before we have even gotten home. He talks about all of his friends constantly and he has kids who all yell hi to him when he walks in each morning. He has some support needs and the school has been so accommodating- taking feedback from therapists, being flexible with him, etc. As a mom, it has been amazing to feel like I don't have to worry about him during the day. Our baby has attended for almost five months. They have been a great resource when I have questions, they have followed my lead with when to start table food, we get excellent communication from them. Center wide I appreciate the app where we get updates on their day in real time including photos and videos. We are so grateful for Woodinville KinderCare!
We sent our sensitive 2.5 year old to day care for the first time after only being cared for by family members. Because of her nature and not having as much socialization (thanks, Covid), she did take a few weeks to adjust. But the director and all the staff we have met clearly are dedicated to early learning and have a heart of gold. They really made sure that the met our daughter where she was, went the extra mile to make sure she was comfortable, and have always elicited the highest confidence in us that she is having a great time at school. Our daughter frequently mentions her teachers, names all her dolls after her teachers, and loves her classmates. We have the greatest respect for the staff, which is only further reinforced by how much our daughter values and adores the staff and her time here.
This place is only terrible because of Director Karen, who personally abused my special needs son. She didnt want to deal with my child so she put him outside in the cold and rain for at least the minimum of 30 minutes with no proper clothing on. My significant other drove up to find him shivering in a caregivers arms while other kids ran around properly dressed for the weather. Furthermore, lunch was happening and they didn't even offer my son food til he was leaving. This was all over him using what she or whoever was the caregiver at the time was too much toilet paper while potty training him. They instigated him to be upset and im pretty sure put their hands on my child since he apparently but the director but has never done that to me or his dad ever much less a teacher. He is only here at this daycare 1 day a week and it's always an issue. When this incident happen we took both our kids out and call cps. An investigation in current in the process for how they treated my child even after giving them the IEP they requested. My son is 3 going on 4 and is delayed and gets frustrated easily when he can't express what he wants since it's a speech delay. They handled everything horribly. I would not send any child here that they may deem difficult. They will call you and make you pick up your child for doing normal child things. Because you know young kids hit and we have to constantly tell them gentle hands and no hitting. One hit and they gotta go. This daycare will get you fired at your job for always needing to leave and get your child. Because they can't seem to handle them and if your not quick enough to pick up... well they abuse them. The 2 year old room teacher where my youngest was at, was excellent. Too bad the whole center wasn't. Good luck if you choose this place. It's a risk until better management and specialist are hired on to handle special needs kids.
