What Parents Say
KIDZ STAY N' PLAY receives overwhelmingly positive feedback from most parents, with nine 5-star reviews praising staff communication, child development, and care quality. One 2-star review documents a feeding oversight and conflict with management. The facility appears well-regarded for affordability and creating a welcoming environment for children.
My daughter attended this childcare facility for just one week, and unfortunately, we had a troubling experience. She became extremely distressed at the idea of returning, to the point of screaming and begging not to go back — something we’ve never experienced with her before. When we spoke with her, she shared that one of the teachers had handled her in a way that made her very uncomfortable and upset. While I understand that all children react differently to new environments, her reaction was intense and out of character. It raised real concerns for us, especially since it was tied to how she felt she was treated. I’m not here to make sweeping accusations, but I do think it’s important for other parents to be aware and to trust their instincts. Every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and respected in their care environment.
This childcare facility is phenomenal! Due to moving, we had two prior daycares for our child, and Stay and Play has been the best of the three! Our son had unfortunately came to them as we were dealing with trying to diagnose chronic respiratory issues and ear infections. Long story short, we ended up having to get him a sinus surgery and tubes in his ears. Why that is important though, the staff always let us know when he was having any issues, allowed us to work with them, offered to accommodate him and work with him when he was grumpy and just not loving his situation with constant sinus and ear infections. Every day since going our son has been happy coming home, looks forward to going in the morning, and shows signs of being happy every day. He learns so much, and comes home saying new words all the time. Skill development also seems to be a priority because whether it was learning how to sit at a table, wash his hands, or any developmental skills, they always let you know how its going and work with him. The disclaimer: yes our son comes home a little dirty sometimes. Yes sometimes there is a pebble in his clothes. Yes sometimes he has a scratch. They go outside on the playground and have fun! We have gone to pick up and the kids will be outside having a blast playing with each other and their teachers. This place is great, and we would 100% recommend it for anyone.
I will start off by saying, up until last week, we trusted and believed the teachers and staff here were taking great care of our son who’s coming up 8 months. He was happy at pick up and drop off practically every day. Here is what our issue is - we have filled out a feeding form to inform the teachers when, and how much to feed our son, which would then be uploaded to the app letting us know when/how much he ate. On this specific day, our son wasn’t offered a bottle for 7 hours. (they fed him a puree pouch within about 4 hours, but a puree does not ever replace a bottle… his main source of nutrition). When I picked our son up, I calmly explained that was not okay and hope it never happens again. Two days later, we get a message from the owner stating that we have caused a stressful environment and are micromanaging her employees to the point they no longer want to go in the room in fear of how we will react if they do something wrong. We don’t ask for much, but properly feeding our son is a big one we expect to be done. We were then essentially told we have a few weeks to find new accommodations as we were no longer welcomed. Still to this point, the owner and director have yet to accept any wrong doing and figured it’d just be best to kick us out at a moments notice than to resolve the situation. There also is lack of communication between staff as the day we received the message from the owner telling us to find somewhere else for our son, my wife called in and spoke with the director and one of the teachers to clarify if our son was no longer welcome there because of this. Both of them said that everything was fine, and that he was still welcome there. Not even 2min later, we received another MESSAGE from the owner saying that he infact is not welcome. The owner also would not answer any of our calls or messages for the next 2 days. Not to mention, our son has been in their care daily for 4 months and has been sick basically the entire time. I understand that kids get sick, but to have a kid under a year old that never gets better due to the environment he’s exposed to is unacceptable. New parents, be aware, they will us your anxieties and stress of being a new parent against you.
Our son has been attending here for over a year and we have always had great communication from the staff and director! It's a daycare, so of course they aren't always going to do EVERYTHING exactly like I would as a parent, but my child is always happy, fed, and loved on here. They even accommodate his grumpiness to leave our side in the morning and will walk him around and take time to get him acclimated before taking him to his room. He is always coming home knowing new words, letters, shapes, and sounds animals make. If any issues have occurred, there has always been prompt communication and corrections taken place. The director even searched the cameras at 8pm to figure out where a mark on our son's arm came from (turns out he did it to himself with a toy, lol) and she did not have to spend her outside of work time doing that. My boy always asks for his daycare people.
Kidz Stay N Play Learning Center - our son attended daycare in the infant room here for the last 5 months. Up until last week, we fully trusted the staff and felt like he was in good hands everyday. He was happy and drop off and happy at pickup. I do truly believe that they took good care of him. Last week there was day where the app that everything is logged (so that parents know what their child is doing throughout the day) showed that our son had not been offered a bottle in 7 HOURS. He had been given a puree after 4hrs, but puree does not replace a bottle... I think everyone knows that. His last few diapers were dry because of this, which never happens. When my husband picked him up that day, the director and his teacher confirmed that it was infact true that he was not offered a bottle for 7 hours. my husband made it clear that this was unacceptable and was not to happen again. We understand mistakes can happen, especially when caring for so many children! But I do expect my son to be fed. Two days later, we get a MESSAGE from the owner stating that we need to make another arrangements for our sons care as we are causing stress for her employees and essentially that we are asking for too much. Literally the only thing we asked is that our sons BASIC NEEDS were met? Like FEEDING him!! I called up to the daycare and spoke with the director and teacher regarding the message and asked if I was understanding correctly that my son is no longer welcome there because we were upset that they went 7 HOURS without offering my son a bottle. The director said not at all, he is still welcome here. Not even 2 minutes later we receive another MESSAGE from the owner saying that she will give us a few weeks to find other accommodations for childcare, but she will not allow her employees to feel the amount of stress we cause. 1, clearly there was no communication because we were told two very different things within minutes 2, never once had it ever been brought to our attention that anything we were doing was causing any kind of "stress" for employees 3, I think ANY parent would be upset if their INFANT went 7hrs without being offered a bottle. The owner would not answer any of my calls or respond to any of my messages for 2 days. We had to go in person to get any sort of response. And the fact that all of this was handled over MESSAGE is very unprofessional.
