DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!! Owner of this place protects his employees by deleting footage of a teacher letting your child walk out and tries to hide it until caught by Cops and DCF. Jail time was of course avoided because footage was “missing”. My 2 year old child got to the sidewalk during end of day rush hour and if it wasn’t for the restaurant at the end of the plaza seeing her…well you know the rest…. Mrs Amy is amazing though!! 🩷
TLDR: 4 years with this daycare. drama, gossip, incompetence! We decided to be polite and just leave kindly without burning any bridges instead of calling police and DCF to address the abuse and neglect. But the director burned that bridge in a matter of a few seconds. Story: We were coming here for about 4 years. We joined because of Miss Dorothy. She was amazing but she retired soon after we enrolled. Things were still okay so we decided to stay. My family spent years doing favors, giving gifts, and listening to tons and tons of their drama and how certain people should be fired but the owner is completely unhelpful. All we asked in return was that our kids be taken care of. 2 years ago when we had our 2nd child, a new infants teacher was hired, Nicole, and I would complain daily about her no taking care of my baby at all. So much that after a few MONTHS she was MOVED to the 2 year old room. Not fired, but MOVED to another room. My baby would come home in the same diaper I brought her in with, bruises (with finger nail scratches and hand shaped bruises all over her butt and legs constantly. And Nicole was ALWAYS looking at her phone no matter what. Not to mention the VPK teacher’s daughter was a massive distraction to the already extremely neglectful teacher (non stop talking even when parents would come to pick up their kids). Between then and now I’ve only heard that this teacher shouldn’t even be working here when my daughter gets to the 2 year old room. She’s still there 2 years later, on the phone, hanging out with the VPK teachers kid, having a pile of toys out and the TV louder than you can hear having the kids in a complete chaotic mess. My daughter, now 2, has been in her 2s class about 2-3 weeks and again everyday is a new issue. Bruises, being fed food that she is allergic to (that my 7 year old saw and stopped it before Nicole could give her mind you), diaper rashes that went away perfectly fine when I a day off work to fix after Nicole made it worse. I complained daily again and NOTHING ever got better again. The director wouldn’t come up with some sort of solution for the never ending issue, she simply would say “well Nicole is telling me she’s doing her job and I have all the other teachers watching her too”. I spent 2 years hearing how incompetent and lazy she is and how full of drama and trouble the VPK teacher Kim is (I even seen and heard her verbally abuse and scream the kids countless times which made me solidify never letting my youngest go to her VPK well over a year ago). Not to mention Kim is disrespectful and seems to think she knows everything and would even make rude comments to me about my 2 year old even though she has nothing to do with the 2 year old room and my baby is still coming home with bruises regardless. The excuses and lies I’m being fed mean nothing to me when my child is coming home with bruises and clear signs of neglect. After so many years of a good relationship with the entire daycare (that everyone knows me by first name), our family decided we’re done with this daycare. We even tried to leave on good terms despite us and our baby being blamed for all of the issues in the last 2-3 weeks. We didn’t even say why we were leaving, just said today is our kids’ last day and thanked the director for her help with everything over the years but instead we’re just asked to pay and to leave, with an attitude. I’m honestly not surprised but I am heart broken because I thought we were more than just money to them. What annoys me the most is this was the most courteous option because the other option was to call the police and DCF and tell them everything about the abuse and neglect my child was experiencing and it never ever ever being addressed the way a director and owner should have addressed the countless issues. Long term, good families will be disrespected but incompetent and unprofessional employees can stay for years with no repercussions whatsoever.
My daughter and I absolutely love it here. Miss Amy, Kim, Lizzy, Dorothy and others are great. My daughter is 3 and has been attending since she was 18 months. They take ELC and helped my daughter get potty trained. She’s learned letters, numbers, shapes and much more. Highly recommend!
BEWARE my 2 sweet boys 2,3 have never been to daycare and away from mom, 20 minutes after dropping them off the director demanded me to come pick my boys up because they were “too much, crying, pushing on baby gate, trying to leave” they never been to a daycare or away from me ofcourse they will act like that and as a daycare it’s their job to help transition them and make them comfortable she then told me “I did this for 33 years and your boys have issues” word for word, then SHE KEPT MY MONEY I PAID THEM(registration money, And paid full price for a day, even though I had elc) the boys go to giggles daycare in Palmbay I HIGHLY recommend them they are in their 3rd day and are so happy there. The daycare is a joke .. next to a bar should have known better.
Our son attended Kid's World Academy from 9 months to over 2 years. The staff has been caring and professional. Would recommend to any parent. Great experience!
