Kids Smart / Glennon Heights

We are pleased to report that we have been very happy with Jacob’s Academy at the Glennon Heights location. We have had exceptional experiences with both the threes and fours teachers and the administrative staff. We get feedback each day regarding how our kiddo does and an opponent to collaborate on approaches to support development. The facilities at the Glennon Heights location are particularly excellent with lots of room to run and explore. The cost is also very competitive considering all meals are provided, the hours are flexible, and the curriculum used. Would definitely recommend.

We selected Jacob’s and our kids are thriving! Our 3 year old immediately settled in and made friends. His teacher is wonderful and has been with Jacob’s for 6 years now. He has the option to take a 2 hour nap (which he loves), learning to write, read, and manners! We also have a baby in the infant room and he has already caught up to all of his milestones. He was falling so behind at home and in a few weeks he’s sitting by himself, said his first word, is eating solids, and holding the bottle by himself! The infant teacher is also wonderful and truly cares. She has checked in multiple times to ensure he’s still sleeping at home and has everything he needs. If you are not religious, your kid will learn moral and stories of Christianity without being indoctrinated. We have not noticed any confusion for our 3 year old when it comes to learning about religion at school. Overall, don’t hesitate! I would go to Jacob’s again in a heartbeat.

We love Jacob Academy!! I have 2 kids there. My daughter is 3 and has been there for 2 years. She has learned so much. The 1 year old teachers helped her walk and practice exercises she learned in PT (she was a late bloomer). The 2 year old teachers helped SO much with potty training. In the 3’s, her vocabulary has expanded so much. She has learned numbers, the alphabet, months of the year and even teaches me new songs. Every time I pick her up, she is playing outside with her friends or coloring or building towers. She was excited to move up to the 3’s because she gets to go on the “big kid playground”. Also, the fact that they provide meals really takes some stress off my plate! My 4 month old son just started there too. I have him on an eating and sleeping schedule and the teachers follow it and are very attentive to him. I know both of my kids are in good hands. I have several friends with kids here too. The management seems to really care about hiring quality staff and it has a family feel.

Our daughter participated in the school age summer program at the Glennon Heights location. She absolutely loved it. There were so many activities with the indoor gym and private playground - what a wonderful use for an old elementary school! She raved about the food. She also loved the swim days and all the staff were welcoming. We especially enjoyed working with Mr. Landry. He always addressed our concerns and questions within 24 hours and was helpful and professional. My only suggestion would be to give new parents to Jacob Academy a full breakdown of the activities the kids participate in so there aren’t any surprises. We absolutely hope to use the summer program again in the future.

They had my previous review deleted for a "false claim" so here is my new response. First of all, do not let family members of director’s “5-star reviews” misguide you as they are not in the classrooms all day to even know what goes on and the mistreatment among staff. I'm tired of keeping it cool. On many levels, as a MOTHER, I would never "pay less tuition" just for my child to be neglected of a diaper change and hear him cry ALL day down the hall way just because someone doesn't want to hold him. Any and All problems addressed to directors will be dismissed and unresolved so do not bother because a check is more important than concern for your child. My son now has an infection due to unchanged diapers and many end-of-day reports with just ONE recorded diaper change in 9 HOURS all of which I have proof of. Many good teachers are left understaffed with no breaks, requiring they work on their only 10 minute break leaving the turnover rate high; so don't be surprised to see a new teacher for your child possibly every month. The alarming turnover rate is not normal. Also beware of hand foot and mouth disease as this is reportedly the 4th or 6th time this year that this disease has occurred in the school. Please consider your child's wellbeing and your own mental clarity before sending your child here. And again AS A MOTHER, your child deserves better.
