If I could give this daycare less than a 1 star I would, but I thought the teachers deserved credit. They know who they are that are good, but I can’t name names for fear they will have consequences for the association with me. Our son was kicked out of daycare because they “couldn’t provide the care he needed and take care of other children.” They also kicked my daughter out who was a newborn, 6 days old to be exact. They had zero compassion. I was absolutely saddened that a “Christian” daycare would kick a family out without any warning as to why or a chance to correct the issue (there actually wasn’t one to fix that’s why they couldn’t work with us). The owner refused to speak to us and the director, Amanda, refused to explain exactly why we were being removed other than the generic letter they gave my husband without having a face to face conversation. We were in Lincoln at a doctors appointment with our daughter who had severe jaundice. We got a call at 11 to pick our son up because he had a loose diaper (contained by his diaper, so still within policy). We communicated we were coming and the issue and that we couldn’t get there immediately and our other pick up person was not available, but we would come immediately afterwards. We even set up an appointment, per the parent handbook, to have our son seen, so he could return to daycare. By the time we got to the center they had decided to remove us without explanation. If your child has food allergies or sensitivities, this is not the daycare for you. They cannot handle it. The teachers can, they told us they weren’t even told why we were kicked out (we had no complaints against us), but Amanda the director cannot. The irony that the owner is a doctor and he also cannot handle minor food sensitivities and allergies. #donoharm. A lot of harm was done. It affected our child mentally and emotionally, it affected us financially as we had no childcare, it had a huge emotional impact on me as a mother 6 days postpartum. Amanda told others my husband yelled at her during the exit meeting we had to beg her for, which he did not. Thankfully the Auburn community came along side us, had compassion, and helped us find better daycare in the end. I waited one year to post this hoping the owners would reach out to us (I was assured by Amanda they would). Still willing to talk it out and have them hear our side.
Great daycare. Wonderful staff. My children are always happy to go.
