What Parents Say
Kid's Club Learning and Day Care receives mixed reviews. Most parents praise the caring, engaging staff and family-oriented environment, with particular commendation for staff members like Mrs. Elizabeth Heon and Mrs. Gilbey DelGreco. However, several parents report serious concerns about leadership, communication, safety protocols during field trips, and alleged discriminatory treatment.
Great caring staff!! They really work with one another including with the children which is awesome. Very pleasant and kind daycare center. One of the best in West Haven area. You can tell its really a family oriented environment which every child needs. The CARE is definitely there.
My grandson attends this center for over a year now. I pick him up and drop him off often when his mom is working. My grandson loves it here when I pick him up he acts like he doesn't want to leave. A few times Mrs. Elizabeth Heon helped me get my grandson into the car (I have a bad knee) I've spoken with Mrs.Elizabeth Heon on multiple occasions when picking up my grandson and she is always so pleasant and very kind. She is also very engaging with the children and they absolutely adore her. Mrs. Gilbey DelGreco is also very great with the kids and so engaging it's so sweet to see. Communication with staff is always great the staff are always sending us updates throughout the day on the bright wheel app they send pictures any important information we need they let us know immediately. Everyone of those women working at kids club do such an exceptional job with those children. I hope they know they are appreciated.
ALL PARENTS: DO NOT send your child here. I repeat, DO NOT send your child here. Although some staff members are okay to deal with, the director and owner of this place is unprofessional. Instead of speaking with and understanding you as the parent, she will make up excuses and talk over you while your voicing your concerns. There is ZERO communication from her or any of the staff members, which will probably change because of this review. It’s no wonder some of her staff talk behind her back and say how much of a disappointment she is to work with. If you want professionalism and understanding, you will not get it here with a person like Liz running her establishment. DO NOT support an establishment who does not support you as the parent.
I will never forget the bad experiences I had with my child here. Never will I forget how they made the boys urinate in front of the girls that were waiting in line to use the portapotty in Painters Park. I was mortified to know that they did not assess the park for proper bathroom facilities, exposed both the boys and girls to an ugly situation. Mind you, I was a parent chaperoning. I immediately grabbed my daughter's hand and we left and I called the board of education, I even spoke to the director who was a complete witch and was very dismissive of my concern for the children's safety. I withdrew my daughter immediately. When I think of this awful experience I wish I had called the cops and made a report. To this day the parents of those children that attended the trip to the park have no idea the images I still have in my mind from that day. It infuriates me that this place is still in business. One other time, the first time rather, I dropped my daughter off to see how she liked it. I was never told to bring her extra clothes. I returned to pick her up and found my daughter soaking wet from having played with the water table. They did not give me a call to let me know what happened. They waited for me to find my daughter in the reading circle all wet and when I saw her my daughter showed me her little hands with a look on her face saying that her hands were wet. My memories of this place torment me to the point I wish I had called the news channel and called John Picard's office.
Very nice staff and work very well with children. My son loves to go to school.
