Kelly Lake Montessori has now become Global Minds. This review is intended for Global Minds which is hiding behind Google's policy to not allow reviews on "schools": We enrolled our children at Global Minds because we wanted a center that was transparent with families about illness, something we stressed before enrolling and were assured would be the case. Unfortunately, our experience was the opposite. When we started, there were already cases of hand, foot, and mouth disease in the center, but this was not communicated to us (nor other currently enrolled families). Had we known, we would have delayed enrollment. Instead, both of our children contracted HFMD within their first week, which meant weeks of missed care, major disruption to our lives, and thousands of dollars in tuition we paid for care we couldn’t use. While the director later admitted that information should have been shared, the daycare still held firm to a strict no-refund policy, treating the situation as if it were just a normal illness absence. For us, this was not a typical sick-day scenario but the direct result of their mistake in failing to communicate. We’ve since decided to move our children to another daycare. Parents considering Global Minds should know that while the staff may appear cautious about illness, the lack of transparency and unwillingness to take responsibility for their own errors caused serious hardship for our family.
such a great school! The school is always kept clean and tidy. This school has made my first experience with Montessori method such a exciting positive experience. All the children are happy and so excited to share the new things they've learned. Kelly the owner/director is an amazing teacher and truly takes pride in her work and has such a heart for all her students, Mallory the toddler teacher is so great with all the children as well and All the children love their teachers along with the rest of the staff. I would recommend this school for anyone who is looking for a daycare/preschool and wants a reliable, trustworthy, positive experience!
The name of this school is Global Minds Montessori and they are amazing. My child loves it here and the teachers are amazing. It's a small place but well run. They really care about the kids. Half the time I pick up my daugter she doesn't want to leave because she is having too much fun. She's specifically asked me to pick her up later even when she has been there all day. She has learned more here in a week then she ever did at the Christian preschool she was at previously. Every child I see leaves here happy and excited and they all wave goodbye to all their friends. Every child is included and I haven't seen any bullying. The billing system is done through quickbooks and I haven't had any issues. The only concern I have is the safety of pulling out of the driveway. The cars come around that corner too fast. It's safest to pull out of the second driveway and enter through the first. In summary We love this school and we are so sad to have to move away and find another school.
My son loved it here! The staff were always so caring and attentive to the children. There was a sense of family. School is secure and always clean. The kids spent a good amount of time outside, weather pending. He always came home talking about his day and all the things he did and learned. Would definitely recommend for preschool! One of the better child care providers I have ever worked with.
Our two kids love Montessori school! One son is in the toddler program with Ms. Tanna and Ms. Sarah, the other goes upstairs with Ms. Kelly. Both kids are very happy here! And I like that the classroom sizes are small. Prior to KLM we were at another larger daycare chain and although we liked the teachers, there were easily twice as many kids in each class. By contrast when we started with KLM our first son was one of 4 kids in the toddler program! It felt almost like a nanny share since it was such a small group. Now both of my kids are there and love to tell me about their Montessori friends and show me their artwork. My oldest is learning what his name starts with and likes to point out every H he sees and say "that's what I start with!!" He's learned so much and comes up with new things every day. I highly recommend this school. The teachers are kind and patient and the class has fun seasonal field trips and projects. We love it.
