Just Us Girls INC

amazing organization led by women, for women! Targeted to middle and high school girls in South Fulton, but all geographic areas are welcome. Meet twice a month to engage in topics and activities around self-esteem, self-expression, life skills, relationships, etc. Girls also get paired with their own mentor for 1:1 support and friendship. As a volunteer, I’ve been impressed with the genuine energy here. I feel welcome, empowered & inspired by these women.

I am so disappointed in this company. I brought myself and my child in to be interviewed on a Sat. By Monday evening, I received a phone call inviting my child to volunteer at a nursing home. With that being said, and because of my busy schedule, I rearranged work schedules in order for her to be able to participate. So I called to confirm the info for that pending date only to be blatantly ignored for 3 days. I then emailed the owner of the company, who then said that my daughter is not a member and therefore, will not be able to participate. We were mislead. I found this out just 48 hours prior to the weekend after changing my schedule knowing they have a strict policy for attendance. No other notice - nothing in writing came until weeks later. As a matter of fact, we were shunned. I would not recommend this organization to anyone because of the way they handled us in an unprofessional manner after we opened up to them. They basically turned a child away who needed additional help which involved self esteem. Self esteem and self worth was something she struggled with. Instead, they took what they did out of the interview and used it against her and treated us poorly by sending an insulting email only after inviting us. This organization is extremely unprofessional. I now have my child with an awesome mentor and I couldn't be happier.

Never got an mentor.. I think it’s because I wasn’t liked. Not sure. But usually that’s when someone needs a mentor the most. Was a “member” about 3 years ago. Every new girl that came after me got a mentor right away while I’ve been there for 6 months and didn’t receive one. Overall it’s a nice program.
