Have heard nothing but good things about this daycare! But my experience was horrible! I was trying to find a daycare for my three year old son, I was in a pinch..and my son has been attending the early childhood program at Smithville! My daycare lady had an accident and I was without child care in a day! Called all around Smithville for a new daycare and Just Like Home said they would help and take him! Literally my only option! But I was so happy due to the reviews I have heard and read about! Paid $400 signed all the paperwork and my son was set to start that next day! Took my son to Just like Home around 7:15 am and showed him around spoke with teachers and gave them everything they would need for my son! Which included : bed sheet, pillow , blanket, extra clothes and underwear just in case! After introducing and chatting for a good while, me and my son left to go to the program at Smithville maple school, for drop off at 8:45. Picked my son up at maple at 11:45 and dropped my son off at “Just like Home”! I headed back to work. Received a call from one of the owners around 4:15 pm that same day! Was told that they no longer will accept my child, they said he “changed the whole environment in the classroom” and then told me how he wasn’t listening to them and how bad he was! Trust me, he is my child and I know my 3 year old boy is a hyper child! But he is 3 year old! And mind you I am a very understanding person and mother! But to judge a child after 5 hours of being in your care to me is cruel! I can understand them suggesting after 5 hours “ first day at daycare” they would say “hey we are going to see if your son can get acclimated to this daycare’s environment but if he can’t then we will have to find a better solution!” They refunded me my $400 and i collected everything I brought for my son to the daycare, checked the bag and said I was missing a few things (all of my sons clothes and underwear) and they did not find them anywhere and said they will locate and contact me, and I went on my way! Everything happens for a reason because we ended up finding a way better option for my son! I just more so wanted to come on here and tell all the parents out there thinking about this option for child care to just think wisely! This has effected my mental health, Thinking my child is just this horrible child that is out of control when I’m not around, and I know he isn’t but the way they spoke to me in the meeting I had before taking my son home that day! It’s was very unprofessional! And not mindful about the fact that I am I first time mom and I’m learning just like every new mom and to treat anyone let alone someone that was honest about there sons struggles from the straight! Sure seemed like they just want to collect money and didn’t want to “deal” with my son! Because maybe he needs extra help or some more attention!! Idk just really rubbed me the wrong way and just if you have a child that is hyper or needs extra support I would not pick this daycare cause they aren’t going to want to deal with the fact that a 3 year olds the first day in a new environment probably isn’t going to be this perfect child! But hey they “have been in for 20 year and have a sense for these kinds of things” Mind you I have yet to get a phone call regarding my son’s belonging. And this was a good two months ago! Hope they will be more mindful the next time.

Quality staff that are gentle and patient. Nice large facility not overcrowded with a variety of activities to entertain the kids that are rotated & changed periodically. They invest in the whole child ... cognitive learning, social learning ... they don't give up on your child; they partner with the parent. They have been such an important part of my village to raise my girls. My girls LOVE going there ... many days they don't want to leave when it's time to go at the end of the day and for a parent ... that's priceless!

I like this place but the one guy who works there I think his name is Jet, I don't like him he's mean.

Just Like Home is the best!
