When looking for a daycare for my daughter it was important to me to find one where she would feel loved and not just be a number in a classroom. I can confidently say that a step above provided that for her. The teachers made the transition easy for her & myself. I specifically give such high praise to ms. Lisa and ms. Abby for making morning drop offs so easy and smooth. As a first time mom who kept her home for the first year my anxiety was high but they put my mind at ease when she was with them.
I have been thrilled with the learning and care given at A Step Above. My sons last daycare made him a dull version of himself but he has really blossomed at this school! He is actually excited to see his teachers at drop off. The staff have all been accommodating of his needs. I have so much peace of mind now!
A step above is amazing! Clean facility, staff is friendly and really cares about all the children. Every picture I see of my son, he’s laughing and playing. They provide tons of age appropriate activities for the kids to help them leave. So thankful for them.
My grandson attends this preschool, and he’s absolutely thriving. The attention he gets from his teachers gives me peace of mind knowing he’s in the greatest of hands. Everything from the food they prepare for him, to the cleanliness of the school, to their communication even with the smallest of “booboos” is better than phenomenal. We know that when he’s there, he’s being well loved, nurtured, and taught.
I am the father of the review below - this is just a response from his mom as it will not give her access to reply again an give her side of false information to their reply - Sky - I am just now seeing this reply- so sorry for the late response! However I would like to address your lies in your response also! 1. My daughter was very shaken up about being left alone - a head teacher told me she reviewed the footage and it never happened. I asked immediately that same day to see the footage. She told me it is not an option for patients to review footage and was denied access to see the proof it did not happen. Yes- at the day our care was terminated I asked to see the footage again - which conveniently you guys “just got new cameras and don’t have access to the old footage anymore” so I was denied access again. 2. All injuries were absolutely not discussed and I do have proof of that also . The day of our departure when I was signing my son out for the day I found an incident report from weeks prior, NEVER mentioned and NEVER signed. Which you probably have a copy of also! I was not made aware of that injury. Just like the one in this picture - was not mentioned until I audibly out loud said “what Happened to your eye bubba!!” THEN a teacher behind me said “oh there might be an accident report on the clip board” oh there MIGHT be??? there better be and to be honest an injury like that should have been a phone call to me. It is important to note that teacher absolutely was not the one there when the injury in this picture happened and your time clocks would prove that. 3. I also absolutely do understand the difference between a full and half day - it was just the way it was explained that was unprofessional. Especially considering she was there for 2 1/2 hours. Again, you have been paid for that so it shouldn’t be an issue currently. 4. Communication is worse at this facility than I have ever experienced, and I have several people that went here that agree and have been to many daycares. I am confident there is no documentation of good communication as it never happened. It was promised, many times yes, but never delivered. I hope this message clears things up for further families, and that the response of the school is how you will be treated if you ever speak up about how unprofessional they are! My kids have been to another daycare and an in home one since and they have been phenomenal!! Great communication, kids come home actually happy instead of dreading going to school. I have several references on how horrible this school is also. It is unprofessional- teachers don’t seem trained - the whole building smells terrible of urine at all times. Teachers switch out every day and several times a day so it’s not consistent for the kids. I truly hope this is an experience that will help the school see what needs improved on for the kids safety and emotional wellbeing.
