What Parents Say
Honey Creek Childcare in Ralston receives mixed reviews. Most parents praise the caring, experienced staff, strong communication, stability, and educational quality. However, multiple serious concerns have been raised about health/safety protocols, staff supervision, and handling of behavioral issues.
We love Honey Creek in Ralston! The new Director is very kind, experienced and more importantly my kids absolutely love going! I appreciate that they do extra fun things, have an ap that we follow and communicate with our teachers. We also feel that they are very reasonably priced and offer great options for our family's schedule. It always smells clean and all the teacher's are friendly and inviting! It is hard leaving for work but I always feel like I know my kids are in great hands!
Does anyone remember going to that daycare, as kids and some stupid things has happened there? I do! I remember, that one day I got KICKED off the van because there was no space in the van the person delivering us did not want anyone in the front seat, so doing her job she said, “I am very sorry please tell a teacher or staff member” I started bawling my eyes out. I only like going there because of a friend I had. Police even had to join with that was happening, and my mom was PISSED, ohh lord you should have seen her face. So if the owner were to read this, 7 years ago I was kicked off that damn van and I still think about it. It’s really funny that there are more 1 star reviews than 5, honestly I feel like the 5 star reviews are just staff trying to keep the business up. I am not trying to hate whatsoever but, fix your rules and staff, they are watching over other people’s kids like it’s easy (it’s really not) CLEAN YOUR MESS OR A LEGAL TEAM CAN FIX IT FOR YOU.
I have had both of my daughters in Honey Creek. My now-9yo went for preschool, always enjoyed her time there, and I was impressed with how prepared she was for kindergarten. My now 3yo has been with Honey Creek since she was 8 weeks old and also loves it. One of the things we love is that we've had almost all the same staff for all these years, not a rotating cast of characters. My girls built deep trusting relationships with their teachers and some of them have become like family to us. Over the years, Honey Creek has worked with us on every issue, from behavior problems to potty training to weaning and everything in between. I've always been impressed with the responsiveness and compassion shown by the directors and their staff. I recommend this daycare as often as I can.
There are so many reasons I want to rate this is zero and stop other people from sending their kids to this daycare, especially if they are at all vulnerable health-wise, but I'll stick to the top one. After communicating our babies' needs (premature infants) and having the staff communicate there protocols multiple times (both my spouse and I checked at least twice after beginning care), we were told that staff wash the bottles between every feeding and sanitize them at the end of every day. At the end of our first week, already feeling a little bit odd and having to ask them to not put the diapers on so tight that they cut one of our babies thighs raw, we got the bottles back as photographed below. They didn't ask us to bring a new bottles. I offered and they said you don't have to, we rinse them. To which I clarified, "No, you wash them between feeds and sanitize them right?" The lead teacher in the room said yes we wash them. I said I will take the bottles home anyway and bring new ones start of next week. When I got home to wash them, the photo below is what I saw. Mold all over the anticolic piece. For 5 days, they fed our babies mold. The worst part is they're not even malicious, they're just dangerous. I reported to DHHS and DHHS contacted department of health. There were so many moments where my spouse and I both weren't sure if we were overreacting and being just new nervous parents, And now that we are at a new daycare, I can't believe we ever trusted these people and this facility with our kids. All we wanted was somewhere safe and loving.
As a parent, I can't say enough good things about Honey Creek Childcare! The love and care they show for the kids is just incredible. From the very first day, I felt like my child was in a warm and welcoming place where they matter. What really stands out to me is how they handle kids with behavior issues. Instead of just kicking kids out or getting frustrated, the staff takes the time to understand what’s going on. They work with the kids to help them learn and grow, which is so comforting as a parent. It’s clear that they want every child to succeed, no matter the challenges. Another thing I really appreciate is how they involve us parents in everything. They keep the lines of communication open and make sure we’re part of our child’s journey. It feels like we’re all on the same team, which makes a huge difference! Overall, Honey Creek has been a fantastic experience for our family. Their dedication to the kids and their willingness to help both children and parents is what makes them special. If you're looking for a place where your child will be cared for and supported, I highly recommend Honey Creek!
