What Parents Say
JOYFUL-CARE CHILDREN'S CENTER LLC has highly polarized reviews. A few parents praise the personal attention, curriculum, and caring staff, while the majority report serious safety and hygiene concerns, high teacher turnover, unprofessional management, and inappropriate child handling practices.
I would like to thank Ms. Keaton and her staff for the wonderful job they have done with my daughter. My child started 2 years ago, and the staff has been wonderful preparing her for each step as she grows. My daughter is painfully shy, but loves to go to "school" as she calls it. The curriculum used in her class is well rounded, and the daily activities are great!! I would recommend this center to everyone.
This was probably the worst day care I ever worked at ! The owner(Tralana Keaton) is very rude. The children and parents are AMAZINGGGG!! But the place is very unprofessional. The bathrooms are always flooding & ants crawling in the infant room floor. This is not a safe place at all. They pay is reasonable but it is not worth it. I've seen so many parents take there children out and have complaints. When licensing comes they try to act like everything is okay but its not. They are never in ratio and also instead of helping the child they yell at them or even ignore them. The pre-school teacher Ms. Lacey is amazing and Ms. Erica, and Ms. Diggs.
Horrible! If I could give no stars I would! My daughters first day they didn't give her her last bottle and the only reason she got it an hour late was because my husband picked her up early. When I asked why all I got for an answer was "I don't know". The same week she got her head stuck between a toy shelf and rocking chair the the staff sitting in the chair with no other child didn't do anything, just kept rocking looking out the window. Ms. Keaton, the owner, lies about everything. I work in childcare and they break so many state regulations and when I call them out for it, they tried to lie again. They use harmful chemicals around children and I watched one staff hold my daughter while mopping and almost dropped her! She also pulled other children away by their arms!! Not a safe place at all!
All they care about is the money. The turnover rate for teachers is ridiculous. My children went here for over a year and had a minimum of 7 teachers in that timeframe. They placed my daughter in the bathroom for timeout and weren't going to tell me about it. Then when informed we would discuss with military assistance how we were treated there they terminated my children without notice. This facility has gone down hill drastically and the care provided was awful. My kids were always miserable there unfortunately we just couldnt get in at another day care. I would give this center 0 stars if i could.
This was probably the worst place I could have taken my child. I have a son who is slightly bigger than your avg 2yr old. He is a little aggressive and may hit just as any other child does however, Ms. Keaton was not willing to work with my child and kicked him out of the daycare without me finding him somewhere else to go first causing me to have to take off work. My son is an only child and has to learn how to interact appropiately with other kids. She does not known how to guide children in the right direction; she quit on my child and if you have a child that may show signs of a behavioral issue she will do the same for you. My son's last day they called me to pick him up saying he choked someone. We all know a 2yr old doesn't know how to choke anything or anyone. Their description of the choking was that he ran up to a little girl and wrapped his arms around her neck. THAT'S A HUG!!!! Yes the pricing is good but it's not worth it at all.
