Our kids are in Ms. Laura and Ms. Latoyo's class and I can't even begin to express how amazing they are in a simple review. As preschool teachers, you'd be hard-pressed to find better people at a better organization. They've cultivated a curiosity in our kids that is truly remarkable and we're in their debt (metaphorically as the prices are quite reasonable). Thank you!
This review is really only applicable to their gym facilities so if you are interested in other aspects of JCA read other reviews. After receiving a tour of the facilities a year ago I joined because I live only two blocks away so I can walk or ride my bike there. The staff is all very friendly. The gym has all the equipment I need and they are rarely crowded so getting in a good workout is always possible and convenient when they are open. They keep the place very clean and well maintained and all of their equipment is always in perfect condition. The monthly fee is $55.00 which is on the higher end for a gym membership for most gyms. I would not have an issue with this except for one major problem. Their hours of operation are not normal and they did not disclose this in advance during my tour. Because this is a Jewish Center they do not open on Saturday's until 1PM and they are completely closed on all Jewish holidays; of which there are many. I certainly understand this and in no way disparage them for observing their religious beliefs but they should tell their prospective members this before they sign you up for a year and charge you for access to a gym that has limited hours.
The best everything in Jax... sports, culture, preschool, etc. Most importantly, the team at the JCA is the most loyal and committed group I've ever seen. Jacksonville is an amazing place to live because of the J!
I found an excellent tai chi class that is offered at the JCA, that is the Jewish community alliance. You don’t have to be Jewish to use their services. I love my tai chi teacher. His name is Clint Neale. Here are some photos from below of the tai chi class taken two weeks ago.
We’ve been part of the Jewish Community Alliance childcare and youth programs for over a decade, and I can honestly say it has been one of the best decisions our family ever made. Both of my daughters practically grew up there. What started as childcare became a true second home — a place where they were known, encouraged, and genuinely cared for. The staff never treated them as just another name on a roster. They invested time, patience, and heart into helping them grow not only socially, but academically as well. Today, they are confident, respectful, and motivated young adults, and I credit much of that foundation to the nurturing environment JCA created for them year after year. The programs balance structure with fun, responsibility with belonging, and education with character development. If you are looking for a youth program where your children will be supported, challenged, and valued, JCA delivers. We are deeply grateful to the dedicated staff who helped shape our daughters into the people they are becoming.
