What Parents Say
It's A Family Affair Childcare receives highly polarized reviews. Most parents praise the friendly, dedicated staff, developmental progress of children, and family-like atmosphere. However, several parents report serious concerns including unprofessional staff conduct, poor emergency response protocols, and dismissive management.
I have loved this facility for many years including when I attended there as a child, as well as being a parent of 2 children who attend there on a daily basis. My children are overjoyed every day walking into this facility, they absolutely love their teachers and cannot stop sharing all of the fun things they do every day and sharing what they learned. Every day drop off is as effortless as possible as the staff immediately assist me with taking off coats and putting away their water bottles. We often have to chase down my children to take off their coats (in the winter) as they try to run to their friends or their favorite toys as fast as possible. My one son struggled with speaking and every since he was placed in the 2-3's class his vocabulary and even his personality has blossomed and I cannot thank the staff for all their work with both of my children. The 4-5's teacher is also very dedicated to making sure the children are prepared for their next steps in their education, even practicing signing their names every day! I appreciate the communication and photos posted to the app connecting parents to teachers! I would recommend this facility 10 times out of ten! Thank you again AFA staff for making your facility feel like home away from home for my sons as it makes me leaving them for the day so much easier!
i’ve dropped my boyfriends children off a few times and the staff is always so friendly, they’re helpful, and they are very good with the kids. plus it was even hard to get a goodbye from the boys because they just ran right into their class to play!
Staff is extremely unprofessional with how they handled a very concerning situation that involved the head teacher in the 2-3 year old class the teacher that is know for getting all the “bad” kids in check. As a responsible , concerned and upset parents we had to be report this situation. When we talked to the director she was rude trying to get us out the center and repeatedly asking us do we want to unenroll our son. We also had a problem with the head teacher in the 2-3 year old room decided to not allow my son to eat one of his snacks from his lunch. The told us he was having a bad day all day. It was because she singled him out and took his food. When I brought this to the attention of his teacher she informed me it was healthy. As if she they don't ask us to pack lunch. They also don’t teach the kids anything they do circle time thats it.I came to them as a concerned parent. All they did was dismiss us and push us out the door. I hope no other parent has to deal with similar situation. I find it odd that all the one start reviews all have something in common.
This day care is horrible! The staff is RUDE to not only other staff members but the parents as well as the children. I strongly believe some of the staff members are prejudice! I cannot speak for every class in that school but the pre k 1 and after school care teachers are rude and disrespectful to the students and parents. I would NOT send my children here! Avoid this place! Yes it’s cheaper than other places but you get what you pay for! My daughter had a bead stuck up her nose and instead of calling 911 they called me, I was unable to answer so they called the next emergency contact, who also was unable to leave work. My mother explained that she would text me and instead of the director calling 911 she waited TWO HOURS for me to get there!!!!! two hours my child sat there with a bead in her nose, and was instructed to drink water! when I asked the director why she didn’t call emergency services, since I was unreachable and the next emergency conctact explained she couldn’t leave work, she writes me a letter explaining that “ we will not call emergency services if your child needs you, instead we will wait until you get there to handle the situation” I was extremely disgusted but kept my children there until I could find a new location. Today I was dismissed without a two weeks notice because “ I seem unhappy with the care” moral of the story is do NOT send your children here. The director has hired numerous friends of hers that are not only nasty but clearly do not like children! I’ve never sent my children somewhere, that allows their staff to not only disrespect small children but parents as well! Good luck with your search but do yourself a favor! Don’t send your babies here.
Nice place for your kid, good and friendly staff. I highly recommend them. Will use them again and again. My only turn off is the play ground. It really needs to be worked on. It leaves the kids shoes black and dirty every single day. .
