What Parents Say
Independence Learning Center has received mostly negative reviews citing serious safety and management concerns. While one parent praised the facility for resolving biting issues and assisting with potty training, multiple parents reported severe incidents including a scalding burn, inadequate staff training, unprofessional handling of behavioral issues, rough physical treatment of children, and security/contract violations.
Back in April I get a call from the daycare that my baby( 8 months old at the time )had a little milk spilled on her and it left a red mark. When I get there the "little" mark was a large portion of her upper thigh and she was burned. Her pants were wet and you could tell it blistered and then popped onto her clothing. We were not notified for over an hour that this had happened to her. The owner agreed to let us come and review the footage of what happened. once we got there not once did the owner ask how my baby was. We watched the footage and found out that a worker had put my baby In a reclined bouncer and quickly handed a bottle then walked away. You then see my baby quickly drop the bottle because at that point in time she was unable to feed herself. The bottles top was not fully on and the bottle leaked onto her leg. You see her scream and cry out in pain. No one helped her for almost 2 minutes as the milk was just slowly pouring onto her.. her bottle was over heated, was not checked before giving it to her, and she was left to feed herself when she did not do that at home. This was complete negligence. My baby had a 2 inch second degree burn on her upper thigh that we have to keep out of the sun for a year. This was a horrible experience. So please do not send your child to any of the learning centers associated with independence learning center.
I took my son here after I had to removed him from a previous daycare for being verbally and physically abused, I informed ILC what he had went through, and he would need help and time to regain trust! He was there for 3 weeks, his first week I had to pick him up once or twice, had a great second week and his third week I had to pick him up each day and they then told me he couldn’t come back due to his behavior! They said he didn’t try to hurt anyone but just got upset a lot! I tried to reach out to the owner SEVERAL times to talk with her and see if they could work with me to help him rebuild that trust! Never received a response back! Very unprofessional and heartless!
This place is ridiculous to their employees! They have snatched my grandsons up by their arms 2 different times as well , my grandson was there with a ear ache and ruptured ear drum so dr said to take a soft pillow in for nap time , when the lady in charge seen it she snatched it out from under his head . Most of their employees are NOT cpr certified and state requires it ... my daughter worked there and they was so rude to her and would give some employees lunch plates ( if they was liked ) . When my daughter asked if she could have a plate she never gave her one ... completely rude people.
We came from another facility where my son was being bitten every other week. We’ve been in the new facility for a bit and have had no issues with this. They helped with potty training and are great with my daughter. We ultimately switched because of cost, but I feel that it was a good decision.
My daughter's went here for years and I loved it at first until they decided to let one of their father's add whoever they wanted to the pickup list without even telling me about it! Keep in mind their contract was with me! I was the one who paid them on time and ahead of time every week! I was disgusted and very disappointed to find this out. BEWARE!!!!
