As new parents/student coming into this school year we have been very impressed. The uniforms are reasonably priced, instill school pride, and make it easy to get dressed in the mornings. You can buy simple designs from the school store or spend more online if you want more choices. The building has been recently updated with a beautiful new playground. There is a before and after school program provided for those of us that work which is greatly appreciated. Breakfast and lunch are provided to all students regardless of income which is amazing. Finally, the emphasis on STEM and an extended learning day (with little homework might I add) will really benefit the kids and prepare them for the future. Good job and thank you for taking great care of our children!

I'm going on my secret account for this one, because I don't want to get into trouble. Colorado STEM Academy is a good academic school. It's the teachers and the punishment system that's messed up. There have been multiple fights, and they make people who don't want to interact with each other talk. If there's an emergency, you have to ask to go to the office to call home, instead of just using your phone. The uniforms require parents to buy them or make them, costing money. The lunches are less nutritionally valuable than a happy meal, and contain more sodium. Overall, it's a good school, but doesn't seem to care about the students all too much.

My children attend(Ed) and we have always been impressed with the staff and the facilities are more than adequate on the elementary side. Middle school needs an HVAC upgrade desperately and the bus/pickup situation is lacking but as a school we appreciate the academic situation greatly.

STEM might say things like "we help students face problems they will face when they're an adult" but that's not true, the school's schedule is FLOODED with math and only has science and technology. STEM also neglected a lot of parent's complaints so they never really helped students with anything and only made things worse especially for parents. The principal Mrs. Martin also focused more on making the school look good instead of actually making the school good, she just says whatever she can to make the school look helpful when the school neglects parent's complaints, cares more about student's grades than their education, and gets students in trouble for unreasonable reasons, one time there was this kid with a hula hoop and the kid was throwing snow into the tiny lake at the school (NOT AT ANYONE) and one of the recess monitors got mad at him and took away his hula hoop as a punishment. DO NOT send any of your kids to this school.

As a student here, I believe this school does well in educating the students and promoting projects. Some teachers are a concern when it comes to having the students completely understand the unit, but otherwise I love the rest of the teachers, because they definitely care about our education. I'm a little curious how student enrollment works, because this school is a STEM based academy and I want it to have worthy students. Many students there sometimes don't care about the projects teachers put the effort in, and others always create drama. SO I love this school but I just wished it had a stricter student acceptance and better lunch food.
