Recently been going everyday for land or aquatic exercise. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Facility offers so much. I feel like we've barely touched the options they have to offer. Lots of gyms closer to where we live, but this place is worth the extra drive time.
Their locker rooms and facilities are dated. They have attentive pool lifeguards which I appreciate for kids swimming and the only reason we’re continuing our membership is it’s the only pool option locally. The on-site child care situation is significantly lacking and if your child has medical needs or medications I would NOT recommend utilizing their on-site childcare - disorganized, staff with no knowledge of protocols or perhaps they don’t have protocols which is shocking for place that claims to be a childcare center, no knowledge of what actions to take in an emergency, and when these concerns were brought forth multiple times management continually pushed it off to ‘someone else’ to deal with or promised to call back and then never did, email addresses that don’t work, etc. Again, would recommend parents think carefully before utilizing their on-site childcare.
The Hudson YMCA used to be one of my favorite places to go to see friends and take classes but that is no longer the case. My 3 favorite yoga teachers have all disappeared in the last 3-4 months- Sheryl, Rachel and Krista- they were the BEST!!!!!! Where did they go?! I did find one yoga class I like to go to Sunday mornings but what's with the prayer cards and stuff? I am a Christian but prefer to get my religion at CHURCH where they preach the things I believe in. And I have been to several classes where they played Christian music. My friend goes with me and is Jewish... Can they play Jewish music too then? I go to relax and stretch and not get converted. This is strange... I like the weight machines and track, but my twin girls got yelled at for running on the track. Isn't that what the track is for? If someone can tell me where Krista and Rachel are teaching now, I'd appreciate it as I'd like to go there instead!
Went in to hudson ymca with the hopes of playing pickleball as their website says they offer day passes. Was met by front staff and when we asked to buy day passes they were very rude about the whole situation. Do not recommend wasting your money on a place with unfriendly unwelcoming staff. Money will be better spent at places such as anytime fitness, planet fitness, snap fitness, etc. It is a shame Google reviews doesn't have a 0 star option!
Wow, what a nice place! Much more than the Y in Mason City, IA, which was a great place as well.
