The teachers here are great and actually have experience with kids instead of just “watching” them they interact with them and make sure everything is in line. The owner Emily is passionate about the kids/staff and her school/daycare, We previously were at one near 40/42 and it felt more like a business rather than a place of growth for your child everyday like Huckleberry which is important to understand. Garner PD is 2 minutes down the road aswell as the fire station incase of emergencies. A lot of events planned throughout the year for parents/staff/children to connect.

I would caution anyone to go here without shadowing a day with your child first. We had a teacher who was very condescending talked down to my 5 year old son. It was so awful that my son came home several times begging not to go back to that class. I then oneday had the opportunity to observe her behavior towards my son when I dropped him off and watched from aside. I had the staff right there with me and she saw it too. The teacher had a militant rigid strict intimidating manner in the way she spoke to my son. I’m glad I and the office staff manager saw it. This teacher was not loving caring warm and inviting. I could see why my son didn’t feel comfortable with her. That staff member did move that teacher out of the class to another classroom but to then return the next day back to my sons classroom as if nothing ever happened. I then had no other choice but to pull my son out of daycare to never return cause I got tired of complaining. Back ground checks is not enough for these teachers as some don’t have the personality or skill set to deal with children in a proper manner. It’s like some teachers like this one in particular love power and feeling inferior to the most vulnerable. I am so disappointed in this daycare in how they hire staff not vetting these folks thoroughly and the way they brush your complaint under the rug leaving you feeling like your crazy and not valued. I would not recommend this daycare.

I love this daycare! I had my first child, and I was nervous about picking a daycare. I found this daycare and the staff was so friendly and it just had a welcoming atmosphere. My infant (6 months old) has been going for about four weeks now. The first day I dropped her off, she didn’t even cry. I was so shocked. The infant teachers are amazing!! The teachers really pay attention to each baby likes and dislikes. They keep me updated throughout the day and if I call the center someone always answers. It means a lot to not have to worry or be concerned about the safety of my baby. Thank you Huckleberry’s Friends staff for all that you do!

I had a horrific experience at this daycare. My son went for all of 7 days before I had to pull him out. They didn’t take the kids outside, there were no lessons, and every time I picked him up the kids were scattered through the room silently playing. The kicker was when I went to pick him up on what was his last day and he had a fever and diarrhea. Nobody called me to tell me my baby was sick. There was no teacher for that room so they have it filled with people that are unfit for the job. 0/10 worst experience EVER.

I highly recommend Huckleberry daycare! It’s small, family friendly and clean. The management is caring and teachers very nice people. We have used this daycare for 6 years now and our children have enjoyed their time there until kindergarten.
