My family and I absolutely love this church! They make you feel like family from the start. We have seen so much growth in our relationship with the Lord and the body of Christ over the past 2 years of attending.
Not the right church at all. The Pastor got upset because he and his wife wanted to pass by my house last Saturday in the morning and I had already made plans. They never called me again! I am glad. Because I don’t want to be at a church where people are odd! I believe you have God in your heart not a church. Thanks and God Bless You!
Very warm and welcoming environment. Although this is a southern baptist church (SBA) , they don't really talk about the Blessed hope too much. Which is kind of a shame. I've been going here for over a year now , I have met some wonderful people . This church is very active with its Outreach ministries, like it's visitations, its corporate prayer, and so much MORE. For instance, there is a beautiful animated movie called King of kings, coming out a week before Resurrection sunday, commonly known as Easter. On the events page, they have a place where someone got a group rate to go watch this movie. Only $6. So I'm going to watch this movie with my church family. This is one of the nice things about this church. It's almost like we have a church within the church. This is an updated review. I updated this in April of 2025. I don't know what the problem is, but they have been looking for a new pastor, because the other Pastor went to a church in Jacksonville Florida. Apparently they had been through this before, I don't get into the church politics, because I just don't want to . But in order to get a pastor, they set up a pastor search committee. It has literally been OVER a year, and we have not had a new pastor yet. Why is this? We have an interim pastor, a man named Gary Johnson, he's a good pastor. Although I personally prefer the preaching style of the one that left to JACKSONVILLE, FL more . So let's get into the preaching, very near and dear to my heart because I want as many people to come to the Saving Grace and knowledge of Jesus the Messiah, because we all know the days that we are living in. And if anyone is reading their bibles, they would know what is coming right around the corner. But boy does the devil have people distracted. I wish they did more expository Style teaching. But they do have Bible study groups that meet before the 11 a.m. Worship On Sunday. Worship music = AWESOME. Impressed with the Sound Stage setup, the musicians, I like the songs that they play. They try to mix it up as much as possible. It's not always contemporary Christian music, sometimes they just do acoustic sessions, sometimes the choir sings, they really mix it up a lot. There are no flashing lights, it doesn't look like a discotheque, so don't worry about that. The only thing I find strange for a Baptist church, is that they DO NOT give out the elements for communion, in which we are TOLD to do in the scriptures. I've been to other Baptist churches who always have communion once a month at LEAST. The other thing which I don't like, is I don't see public baptisms. Once in a blue moon, they'll bring up the topic about being baptized, but I have yet to see one here at Wayside. I used to go to Pines Baptist Church, the one right across from the fire station. That was a wonderful Baptist church. True old school Baptist church, where they sing hymns instead of contemporary Christian music, I remember the pastor there didn't even allow drums. I miss that church. Most Baptist Churches have one of those bathtubs right there behind the altar, in which you get baptized. That's the right way to do it. But not at Wayside. And they rarely stress getting baptized. 😔 As we all know, there is a great falling away, An apostasy that is going on throughout many churches, and I'm a little concerned about Wayside. 🚫Knowing Jesus Christ is a relationship, it has nothing to do with a religion. And my friends, only the TRUTH will set you free. Run to Jesus the Christ as quickly as you can. The ONLY way to the Father is through the son. "Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, ...(Ephesians 5:15-21). Time is literally running out. Read your Bibles ‼️
Shortly after relocating to the Miami area, my husband and I decided to begin looking for a new church home (knowing it would likely be trial and error for a bit until we felt we'd found a good fit for us). I came across Wayside in an internet search and we joined an 11oclock worship service about 6 months ago. After our first Sunday service, we stopped our search and immediately felt this was the place God lead us to be in our time in Miami. Wayside is a fairly large church with a two-story mezzanine and a congregation of all ages. On our first visit, pastor David, and his wife, Kelly personally greeted us as they recognized new faces and made it a point to welcome us. They were eager to introduce us to the leaders of a Sunday-school group for young adults, which has cultivated relationships we intend to always keep. The messages we receive each week are biblical, relatable, and full of Godly wisdom in which we have been able to apply to our lives in the past few months. We feel that God is working in a multitude of ways through Wayside and are blessed to be a part of it. We would suggest and invite anyone to visit Wayside and see the great things that are happening here.
I am not part of this church but wanted to express my disappointment with three people from this church who came and rang my doorbell at 7:30 pm not just once but twice supposedly to welcome us to the neighborhood but started talking about heaven and hell and left pamphlets and brochures. First of all, nobody should be bothering people after dark and much less when the front door light is off, second and last respect other people's religions and leave your home address next time so I can come knocking on your door at odd hours.
