What Parents Say
His Kids Day Care has received mostly positive reviews praising staff care, engagement, and family atmosphere, though several parents report recent operational and safety concerns including staffing issues, late openings, and regulatory violations. The facility appears to have experienced a decline in quality over time with significant staff turnover.
The director over this facility will be its demise. They don’t honor office hours of 630am-6pm. Many times opening doors late in mornings leaving kids and parents out in the cold after supposed open time. Not adequately staffed ratio of teacher to child. Many staff doesn’t speak English at all. Code to door they give doesn’t work. The list goes on. Save yourself the trouble.
I have had my son here for 7 years. (He’s 8 years old) Yes there’s been issues here and there over the years, but that’s going to happen anywhere you go. The world and people aren’t perfect. BUT, they are quick to inform the parents and authorities when/if needed. I’ve never once worried about his safety while he’s been here. They also recently hired a new director for anyone who had previous issues. I’ve had met and had plenty of conversations with her and she is great and a wonderful addition to this daycare. I’m dreading the day my son “ages out” and can no longer attend. The teachers go the extra mile and send pictures and videos when they’re on field trips, and also enjoy playing with the kids rather than being more concerned with gossiping with each other or looking at their phones. And that goes a very long way with me since everyone, myself included at times, seems to have their phone glued to their hands.
In my opinion, the quality of this daycare has drastically decreased over the years. At times they were not adequately staffed. I have seen great teachers leaving this place in numbers, which is a major red flag for any parent. When I initially enrolled our oldest child in this daycare, four years ago, there was a different director who was wonderful. There was also a different Pastor of the church, Pastor Logan, who really loved people. That same love for people was shown in the daycare. The new Pastor is not friendly to the parents or children. I had to remove our youngest child from this daycare and our older children will not return for summer camp like they did every summer. I had to have a conference after I heard a teacher yelling at my child. Stephanie in the office was very rude when I expressed my concern. I also discovered that a child was found wandering in the parking lot at this daycare. The Florida Dept of Families has record of this incident. They were also cited for cribs that did not meet federal regulations. After discovering that information, I decided to pull our child from the daycare. It also did not help that there were so many different teachers circulating in and out of the classroom because they could not retain any staff. One day when I came to pick up my child early, there was a teacher who smelled like smoke. When I mentioned it to the current director and the fact that my child has asthma, she was very defensive. I think she was afraid that I would report them to the Department of Families. I knew my child would no longer be there, but I was worried about the other children there. This used to be a good facility, but it is not anymore.
His Kids is great! I was very nervous about putting my 2 month old in daycare and they really put me at ease with the app they have as well as the family feel in the facility. Kelly the infant teacher was so wonderful as well as Victoria the director and the rest of the staff, I would recommend this daycare to anyone.
My children were at this daycare/pre-k for a year. In the beginning it was great! My kids were well cared for. The staff was great! My sons pre-k teacher, Charity was amazing, my son learned so much while he was with her. The assistant director was great she genuinely loves all the kids. A few months ago they hired a new director and that’s when everything started going down hill. They hired a new pre-k teacher who allowed her son to physically and verbally abuse the kids she was supposed to be caring for. She also physically disciplined her son in front of the other children. There were many incidents and the director had to be told by DCF that she had to fire the teacher. Her son remained at the school and continued to bully the other children. I wrote a report about this boy hitting my son two different times and after that he actually drew blood from my child, the director still refused to expel the child. There are some wonderful teachers and staff that work there, but when the management doesn’t do their jobs the staffs hands are tied. It’s sad that I had to pull my kids (who loved their teachers) because the director refused to protect my child from another one.
