Hazelwild - a pure treasure!! I will be forever grateful that we were able to attend Pre-K here. Although I am unable to afford their Kindergarten, I highly recommend them. The staff is amazing, the activities that your child experiences is unique and fun unlike other schools , and just feeling like home. My daughter has grown so much academically thanks to Mrs Kelly (who is an absolute gem). We may not be able to do Kindergarten with them but we will be back for horse lessons and summer camp next year! PS. Go slow when pulling up to the building as Hank the cat likes to make sure the kiddos get safely inside the building every morning.

I am leaving this review to formally express my deep concern and disappointment regarding the recent incident involving my four-year-old child at your summer camp. I entrusted your program with his care, expecting a safe, supportive, and developmentally appropriate environment. That expectation was not only unmet — it was disregarded. My child was expelled from your program for experiencing a bathroom accident near the pool — an entirely age-appropriate incident for a four-year-old. Rather than responding with understanding or basic support, your staff chose to expel him from camp entirely for the rest of the summer. This decision was abrupt, punitive, and harmful, both emotionally and logistically. When I approached a staff member about the matter, she informed me that she had “been having trouble getting him to go to the bathroom,” but chose not to involve me as his primary caregiver because she “didn’t want to bother” me. This is not just poor judgment — it reflects a clear lack of training, communication, and compassion. Had your staff offered regular bathroom breaks and consulted me — even once — this could have been easily prevented. As a result of your handling of this situation, my child’s summer plans have been entirely upended, and our family has been left scrambling. We are now without care or programming for the remainder of the summer because of an exclusionary response to a normal developmental behavior. Let me be clear: I will never be using your facility again. Furthermore, I will be informing other parents — both personally and publicly — about the circumstances of my child’s removal. I intend to leave honest, detailed reviews across social media and parent forums to ensure that families seeking a safe, competent, and encouraging space for their children know the truth about your program.

Both of my step daughters go and have went here. They really love the school side and the summer camp side of it. Alot of people always say, how do you afford that place. It's really not expensive if you look at it like this, you pay a daycare what, bout 130 150 bux a week for 1 child ? That's between 5-600 a month, same if not less than the rates here. It's just here you pay monthly. That's what makes it seem like alot. For what your children get with the experiences they will love you for it. Great place. Be better for some if they had weekly payments available.

As a former Hazelwild parent I just wanted to inform other interested parents that the 3 year old program does not learn through play. That is the developmental expectation at that age. Teachers repeated requests in a firm tone as opposed to setting examples and demonstrating expectations. I was also expected to reprimand my kid for not meeting behavior expectations starting week 2. Good luck with your preschool search.

I can’t say enough about this place! It’s unlike any other preschool I’ve ever seen before! My son LOVES it and each weekend now asks when it’s Monday so it’s time to go back! Every single day when I drive onto the property, it feels so good to look around and see nature all around. From the pond, to the tractors actively working the property, to the horses, barn cats, and so much play activity all around, my heart loves this place. We’ve already decided that we will enroll our son in summer camp, and already think we’ll stick with Hazelwild for Kindergarten as well. Our son comes home knowing more and more each day, and that’s really important to us as we get closer to him being in Kindergarten. He gets so excited to share with us something he learned at “his farm school” and loves to tell everyone he encounters about his school. I only wish we’d found it sooner. The property is beautiful, the staff is wonderful, and there always seems to be something going on to be involved in!
