This is the BEST daycare/preschool you can choose for your child. I truly couldn’t recommend them enough. My daughter loves going to school and learns so much! The teachers are incredibly nice, engaging, and informative. They go above and beyond expectations! The director and co-director, Martha and Melissa, greet you with a smile each morning and afternoon. They are also so personable - they knew my daughter by name pretty much as soon as she started attending CAP, which is pretty amazing considering how many children they see every day! If you ever have a question or concern, they’ll help you right away. I will always recommend Cadence Academy to anyone looking for childcare. We couldn’t be happier with our experience!
This is not at all to bash them and call them a terrible center but they definitely need to change some things and emphasize to their teachers the attention to detail that it takes when caring for small children. I hope this was just a personal experience and more people don't have these issues. Hopefully with the new director things improve but I personally could not sit around and wait for these much needed changes to happen. My main issue was the cleanliness as there were multiple instances where I picked up my daughter in the Infant 2 class with a dirty diaper, dirty clothes, face full of boogers and/or food. If you're not wiping their noses, they're going to eventually wipe it themselves- all over the place causing more germs to spread and more sick kids. There was an instance where my daughter had been changed 1 time in the full 7 hours she was there and when we got home she had a 5lb diaper full of urine and poop, this is completely unacceptable, not to mention she was one of 2 kids that were there at time of pick up, which is even more reason why this should have not gone missed. This was truly my last straw as I feel I had been more than understanding in the past. I was told that teachers are suppose to upload at least 2 pictures of your child every day, which did not happen. You also do not get live updates and as a center that does not provide live video streaming, should definitely be prioritized. And when we first started I was receiving pictures of my daughter crying in almost every single picture they sent for weeks, which was obviously very discouraging and upsetting. I mean cmon, who thinks that sending pictures of a crying child is appropriate? It just made me feel like they were just trying to check a box off their list rather than ensuring me that she was doing okay and in good hands. With that said, Ms Katie and Ms Estephanie were very nice and my daughter took to them pretty well. I did witness some of these things with more of the younger more inexperienced teachers maybe it was because they aren't mothers themselves and don't pay attention to things like a Mother would, but either way they should be trained properly. I did experience some teachers that honestly didn't seem like they wanted to be there, I get it, it's a job but when you're working with children I feel like you should have the personality and interest for it. Having to constantly bring these things to their attention made me feel overbearing and as if my standards were too high but after starting her at her new school, I quickly have realized that I was asking for the bare minimum..
We have used the school for both of our children. My oldest started when she was 2.5 years old and graduated pre k. She is now there for breaks and drop in care. My youngest has been going since she was 15 months old and she is almost 3. The staff are amazing, they know every child by name, the academic quality is excellent. My oldest went to Kindergarten so prepared that she was bored for the first part of the year. The summer camps are fun and on non covid years they take multiple field trips a week. My kids are so happy there that they never want to come home. They are extremely responsive to questions or concerns. We can call and check on our kids at any point and they transfer you directly to the classroom to talk to your child's individual teacher. They have helped so much with potty training as well. They also do Parents night out several times a year which the kids love and gives us a much needed date night. They also have a pool so during the summer the kids get to have time in the pool, and they use a sprinkler for the littles. My kids are happy, they learn so much and love the teachers. I really could not ask for better.
My son went to Cadence for 2 years, he learned so much, his teachers really cared for him and made great friends! He was always excited to go to school, the only reason he no longer goes there is because we moved, I highly recommend them!
I thought this school would be a great match for my 3 year old with autism. However, I visited this site and met with Melissa. Melissa had a very unpleasant tone and said things directed toward my son that she never met just because of his disability. She asked weird questions and made weird statements as if my son isn’t a normal human being just like the rest of the kids that attend that school. She also had a nasty tone when speaking to one of the toddlers that was in her office sounding annoyed with a toddler but she claims she’s been working in that field for 16 years. If I were the parent I wouldn’t have liked my toddler to be treated that way. I would never and I repeat never send my son or recommend anyone send their kids to that school especially if she has anything to do with it. I am definitely going to report her and her role at that site to be investigated because I don’t think she is fit to be around anyone’s kids.
