What Parents Say
Growing Footprints LLC is a well-established center-based daycare in St. Louis with predominantly positive reviews praising the caring staff and owner Connie. The majority of parents report satisfied experiences with attentive care, reasonable tuition, and strong staff-child relationships. However, two negative reviews describe serious concerns including alleged staff misconduct, inadequate supervision, poor hygiene practices, and billing disputes.
Our son attended Growing Footprints for 3 years and we are absolutely happy with the care given there. Our kid has always been given attention, care, and most of all, every single employee there loves the kids they watch as if they were their own. To me that was the most important aspect of a daycare and Growing Footprints always did that for my kid. The owner is very nice, intelligent, and treats the kids, employees and facilities, like they are an extension of her family. The main source of the business' success is word-of-mouth from happy parents and we were lucky to get a reserved spot when we enrolled. Tuition is very very reasonable for the care and I would assume that is why its hard to get in. They rarely close with the exception major holidays which was good because our kid actually LIKED going there. Yes, there were times when illnesses made their rounds and also times where he did get boo-boos, but that happens at every daycare, and when it happened to my kid, the owner or one of the employees contacted me immediately to answer any questions I had. If you have any questions or concerns about this place, please feel free to contact me (and no, I'm not a "plant" reviewer), just a happy parent/customer.
Love this little daycare, they are always so happy to see the kids, and honestly I can't say anything negative, except that I wish they offered part time. Otherwise all good, they teach the kids crafts and I witnessed nap time. They do lock the doors at certain times. They will also call you in any situation even if you don't bring your kids in for the day to make sure everything is ok. The ladies there are really caring and always friendly.
I absolutely adore this place. I've been "that one mom" who doesn't want to put my son in daycare, but due to a new job I had to. Connie, the owner, is absolutely amazing and has worked with me in every way possible. My son is absolutely crazy about Miss Mimi! He is learning so much and has so much fun with it as well. Highly recommended!
I brought my son for his first day here and witnessed a staff member hateful screaming at a small child at the top of her lungs and none of the other adults even acknowledged her behavior as abnormal. It wasn't until I got upset and took my son and left (not to return)that the situation was even viewed as a problem. Yes, you will find them on the state of Missouri's website as an "approved provider", but after what I witnessed here, I would never leave my child in their care.
My son made it here 3 days. Not impressed with anything about this place except the location. Paid total of $210.00 after 1 week tuition and application fee. Day 1 my son came home with the most extreme case of leg/butt rash I have ever seen. i wish google would let you post pics! They left him either in wet clothes or a wet diaper all day. i counted his diapers when I went back the next morning. In 10 hours-they used 3! I had to go to work, so I was talked into bringing him back on day 2 by one of the "workers". I picked my son up on Tuesday and he had a flea on his hair. We decided we would finish the week and not bring him back. The doors were never locked, lights always off, and although I was promised an 8 to 1 ratio, that rarely seemed to be the case except in the am during drop offs. So Wednesday i get a call around 3 (at work) that my 100% healthy son was eating a snack and when the girl turned around she saw that my son was covered in puke from head to toe, crying. She obviously was not watching my son if she didn't hear or see him throw up. Then they tell me he cant come back until Friday!!! I replied with "does my paid day get refunded as my son is clearly not ill, just neglected". At 1st the response was no. So I had the girl behind the desk call the owner. Owner Connie felt so bad about the situation she offered to refund all of my money. 3 weeks later I had to go pick up a check because they never mailed it. Guess how much it was for? $70!!!! Wow. Then that the girl who allowed my son to throw up and could have choked to death, had the audacity to tell her boss I cussed her out. The same girl also called a friend of my families and tried to bring her into the mess. There is no privacy, too much drama, half the workers look either too exhausted to be watching kids or high. Not happy. And now that I have cashed my $70 (not $200) check I have no problem putting it out there. Better than mary margaret, but surely not good enough for my son!!!!!!
