We love Green World School. My daughter has been going for almost two years. She has learned SO much since starting school, and she’s made so many friends. Since starting school, they helped her with potty training, conflict resolution with her friends, reading, learning letters and numbers, etc. The teachers are great. My daughter has formed close relationships with each of the teachers. And most importantly, she’s safe there. I’ve never once worried about her safety at school.
Its been a very long time since my grandson went to this school. I cannot say enough about the level of education and head start they gave my grandson. He's a junior in high-school now and is in the top 10 of his school. He's always been a honor student, however, I feel the start kids get how they succeed. He's going to be a Geologist. Enroll your students you wont regret it.
GWS is wonderful! Our child was only there for 7 months before aging out to kindergarten, but we have loved this school from the start. It’s a small class size, focus on nature, but also teaching math, writing, Spanish skills, and more! You will not regret sending your children here. ♥️
All three of my children had the privilege of spending their formative years at Green World School, and I can honestly say it was one of the greatest gifts we could have given them. The environment is calm, peaceful, and intentionally designed to let children be children — to explore, create, and play freely. My kids spent countless hours outdoors, whether tending to the garden, making and enjoying healthy snacks they helped prepare, or simply letting their imaginations run wild in nature. The emphasis on outdoor learning and hands-on experiences is something I deeply appreciated and still see the benefits of today. The staff is nothing short of incredible. Every teacher is attuned to each child’s unique needs and knows how to truly connect with them. They foster an environment where kids feel safe expressing themselves fully and confidently. The education style — a thoughtful blend of Reggio Emilia and Montessori philosophies — nurtures curiosity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning. The School Director, Marissa, is a gift in herself. Her deep knowledge of child development shaped not only how my children grew but also how I grew as a parent. She mentored me throughout our time at the school and has continued to offer guidance even years after we graduated. That says everything about the heart and dedication of this community. Green World School is more than just a preschool — it’s a sweet, tight-knit community that feels like home. I only wish I could have kept my kids there even longer. The foundation they built at Green World continues to benefit them in so many ways. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
We are so happy and grateful that our children have been able to attend Green World School. It is such a peaceful, magical, creative and nurturing space for little humans to grow, develop, learn about social relationships and navigate the world. My son, now 7, attended summer camp before beginning kindergarten and it was a tremendous aid for his transition to school. He was terrified about starting kindergarten, but after easing in with the extra encouraging touch from Green World, he was ready and excited to begin public school. Though he did continue to lament for the entire year how much he would rather still go to Green World. My daughter, 4 1/2, has been thriving at Green World for the past two years. She has learned so much and I often feel so reassured that this little community is now her second family. She loves her teachers and has a great time playing, creating, dancing, singing, and reading at school. I am so impressed by the learning materials that the teachers share and all the fantastic tactile play stations. It feels very much to me like stepping into the world of Mr. Rogers. We are extremely fortunate to have this nature-based educational program available for our little ones here in Charleston. From what I hear about other programs, Green World offers a caliber of care and education worlds beyond what is found elsewhere. Thank you to the amazing directors and teachers!!!!!
