Granny'S Schoolhouse

I cannot tell you how amazing these last 5 years have been! Everyone at Granny's has treated my children exceptionally well. The curriculum and manners they are taught blows me away. The value and quality is unmatched. My daughter will miss coming every day since she is transferring to her school for pre-K. My son loves the teachers every step of the way. Hidden gem!

6 years ago this place was great when my oldest attended. It has since gone downhill, fast! I was told my child needed to be medicated or would be sent to lake Mary and public schools would kick her out. She’s 3, tantrums happen, but apparently she was the only one. I offered to meet with the “lead teacher” in the room and the director and told its best i just find somewhere else for my child to go. I was told she’s a liability because of her behaviors and tantrums. Was told she’s the only kid to act this way 🙄 The turnover of staff in the last year is ridiculous. For two weeks straight there was a different staff daily. There’s a few good staff members who really care about the kids, otherwise it’s about the paycheck. When I asked for my refund she said she would gladly give my money back if that’s what it took. I was shorted money and she said I could have brought her in that Friday (we spoke on Thursday at the end of the day) and that’s when I was told to find somewhere else - my response was do you really think myself or anyone else in their right mind would send their child back after being spoken to and hung up on?!?

Had wonderful experience having my daughter at Granny's for many years. A fun, safe, and educational experience. My daughter was prepared to start kindergarten due to the education she received early on at Granny's. She knew more Spanish at age 3 than I ever have. lol Thank you to Mrs. Gilmore and her staff!!!

If I could give negative stars I would. My son went there a couple years ago, still to this day he remembers it. He was crying everyday at drop off begging me not to leave him and I thought it was just him being new at going to a daycare and separating from me, until I saw it firsthand. This is an abusive place and I can only imagine what goes on behind closed doors when me or other parents have not been present. I was prompted to leave this review after all this time due to a fellow Louisburg mom who recently had to deal with her 2 yr old son running out into the street while in their care, resulting in almost being struck by a car. They had no idea he was even missing & they didn’t even tell her what happened until the end of the day when she came to pick him up. Somehow this place is still open. There have been a ton of reports made over the years. It doesn’t make sense to me. Do not trust these people with your children. I seriously beg of you.

We used to love this place but it has gone downhill. All of the good, tenured staff have left and it’s mostly new, young people who just need a job. My son started going there when he was 2 and only recently started having bahavior issues. As the parents, we were blamed, but they did nothing to try to help him. The owner/director acted like she couldn’t care less what he was going through and showed no empathy, would not meet with us to discuss, no efforts were made by her at all. He has now started therapy thanks to this place. Would never recommend this place to anyone. It’s convenient because it’s the only daycare in town, but I regret sticking with them for so long.
